Hi,
My readings seem to be improving.
I've gut my carb in take. I just checked my bloods and it was 6.0. About to eat. I know this reading is still not great but I'll get there. Thing is..... Feel do tired. Normal????

Your body is going through changes so could be.
Are you taking in enough salt and fluids? We tend to forget how much salt there is in ready made foods

Not really having any salt I suppose.
Drinking fluids is a nightmare. I teach and can't access a loo frequently.

One of the hidden surprises to me of going low carb and getting my sugars down is the reduction in wees! I didnt think I had a problem but now I know I had. I can now go for hours without and its great. Changed my life.
Stick with it. Look up electrolytes. Some people swear by them

Increasing salt makes the body retain more liquid and increases blood pressure so may not cause the problem you foresee.

Ann I don't know why you're saying a reading of 6 is not great , Thats about as good as you can get !

Oh right, thank you. Not been told much, still learning. Why do I feel so rubbish.
problems are not always to do with diabetes, even if they seem to appear around the same time as diagnosis. Its worth getting more investigations done.

Ann don't feel rubbish ! If you haven't been told you wouldn't know would you ? but to be honest if you can keep below 10 for as long as possible you are doing great and I do think this new rule of not going above 7.8 is worrying a lot of people and is almost impossible for most of us .

If your bloods are about the 6 mark and you are still feeling tired it would suggest there is something else wrong maybe a visit to your gp may be needed .

If you have been on Low Carb/Keto for more than 3 weeks and still feel rubbish then it's likely that something else (rather than the keto flu) is going on- perhaps unrelated to diabetes or low carb.

Generally in most cases the body adjusts to low carb in 2 to 3 weeks. Then after becoming fully 'fat adapted, energy improves an ti is then easy to both exercise while fasted and to fat for over 12 hrs e.g. 2 meal per day or just one meal per day (OMAD).

I was on low carb for several months before everything stabilised (although, with hindsight, some of the problems could have been due to the maximum dose of Metformin that I was on). And I felt absolutely knackered! I was diagnosed in April and as a serving teacher (clue here!) did not get time to really recuperate until the summer holidays. The following year I was slimmer, fitter, healthier and back on top form. ( Much to the annoyance of some of the kids!)
