FEEL VERY ANGRY AT MY G.P

hi every 1, i am just wrinting on the forum for some advice regarding my g.p and my diabeties, tinitus and pancreatitas and frequent hernias, i also have vascular problems
in 2001 for nearly 18 months i and other people told my gp my symptames showed pancreatitas
i suffered for a very long time in inmense pain before my father found me collasped in my home from the pain from vomiting i could not walk with so much pain, my dad took me to hospital where i stayed in intensive care around 3 months and ward 11, around five months making 8 months of operations and pure pain and diagnosed with chronic pancreatitas,
a few years later when i thought i was finally getting better, i started showing signs of having diabeties, but again my gp would not listen for over a year i kept feeling very unwell untill 1 day a chemist offerd to give me a diabeties test, because i had asked her, the reading came back at 28, her eyes nearly poped out a pharmasist then appeared done it again and it was still 28 he took me straight next door where my so called gp is based and told the sedratery that this man needs to see a docter imediatly and i was booked to see a gp. the gp again done a finger test and my blood was 27.8 or something like that
then 3 years ago i developed this constant roaring in my left ear went to my gps and was told there was nothing wrong with my ears and felt as if i was disbelieved, a few months went by i went agian to be told the same thing from so called gp, this noise in my left ear becomes louder at night and i find it very hard to sleep with it and due to constant hernias have to sleep sat up since 2001, i was disbeileived again about 7 months later i could take no more of the tinitus and as id been offered no help what so ever went to my gps and demanded to see a specialist because i was finding with other health problems very hard to deal with, the docter has examined my ears on numerous ocasions and said that there was nothing wrong at all with my ears to cause tinitus,
i seen a specialist a few months ago, she told me my right ear is very badly scarred and was told i am near deaf in my right ear which may be causing the tinitus so have been given 2 hearing aids which has just made me feel so down
my question is do i have any grounds to take my so called gp to a medical court for medical negligence
i told the gp on thursday that i didnt not think they had any interest in my health so i am moving on and today tues day i received a letter saying on the friday i threatened a member of staff and have been banned from going ever again, i was not there on this friday i was there on thursday but i threatened nobody, on the friday they claim i made a threat i was in the mri hospital having my hearing aids fitted
i did say to the gp when leaving i may seek legal advice regarding my lack of treatment with them
they have been a very horrible docters over the last few years towards me but i am always pleasent to docters and receptionists, if any body could help me with some advice it really would be appreciated
thanks for reading

People who are touchy.......feign indignation at the slightest thing. Hypocrites, bullies and cowards.
Hi Patrick.
You need to seek advice from specialist Solicitors who specialise in this sort of complaint.
Here is a link to our own website page with details of some firms. I have no idea if they are any good or not. At least it's a start ?

Your GPs sound rubbish - if you want to bring a claim against them it could be quite expensive; and unfortunately being rubbish isn't enough; you need to have suffered demonstrable loss as a direct consequence of their negligence.

If you can show that you have suffered loss of some sort try and put all your experiences down on paper with names and dates and arrange for a preliminary interview with a solicitor specialising in medical negligence; in that interview you will want to know whether you have a case and what they think it would cost and the likelihood of success. Normally those first meetings are free - but best make sure!

I can advise you to log on to http://www.lawsociety.org.uk/choosingan ... icitor.law
They will list the specialist firms who deal with Medical Negligence claims. I work in the law (although I only advise Solicitors and not the general public) and I can tell you that Medical Negligence claims can be extremely difficult to prove. This is why you need a specialist firm. You may be offered to fund it on a CFA or you may be eligible for Legal Aid funding, good luck :)

I actually think that you would have a good chance at a neglegence case if your hospital / clinic records back-up the fact that your GP's misdiagnosis, or indeed failure to diagnose at all, placed you in immediate physical danger, which it would appear it did!

soaps on telly and people talking about the characters as if they were real.
I'm sure that the evidence of your being in a hospital learly disproves the accusation of attacking a member of staff. I would start with the PCT and the CAB. and possibly your MP
And make sure you get registered with another practice, as a diabetic, you arebound to need some prescriptions soon.

hello again every 1
thanks for all the info given i am going to go and try to see 1 of these specialist solicitors as i feel there is negligance from my docters and i do think i have at the moment a very strong case against them, but as we all no the medical proffesion is hard to break through as they all seem to think they are god or higher
if i lived in the usa this docter would no ***********gone to a police staion after it, as for years now this gp has made my life quite bad with letting my health deteriate before doing anything, examples, chronic pancreatitas diabeties tinitus and deafness, and foot and leg problems also vascular problems and back pain, i only ever get to see any specialists when i actually demand to see 1 and most specialsts i see say my health would not be as bad if my gp would have sent me to see somebody about it earlier
and prescribes me tablets that state clearly on boxs, etc, do not give to diabetics, and i have type 1 diabeties, which i have never had any help with i was told to stick this needle in my belly 2 times a day
but it was so high i was having hypos constantly because i do not eat well, because of my pancreas, so i had to lower the dosage using my own mind not a gp, i lowered the dose by half and do not have so many hypos now
because of my tinitus being so loud it keeps me awake and other health problems most nites i asked my docter for something to help me with sleeping but was never given anything at all, so i had to start buying diazepam and nitrazepam from people who i didnt even no i felt so ashamed
i also now buy them from people from india on holidays etc, as it makes my tinitus not as loud so i do get some sleep if i wake up i have pretty much no chance of going asleep agian with the noise in my left ear this gp is aware of this and i have told her i would not now be in this situation if some 1 in the surgery would have given me some help and not treated as a liar, she told me theres nothing wrong with your ears and i now have 2 hearing aids, i could go on and on but do not want to bore you all, i do appreciate all replys, so cheers to who did sorry for rammbling on :? but i cant take much more in my life at the moment, but thats another story
thanks all for reading

since my 1st post i have foned this gp and they said it was a friday that this happened i was at the hospital, i said to the person on the fone that i had been in the day earlier for my blood screening and had asked this gp about why she lets my health get so bad before she evers lets me see someone about it and i was leaving to find another gp and seek medical advice about negligence, suprise suprise they rang back and said it was not on friday as they stated but thursday i was aggresive towards my gp, which to me shows they make it up as they go along, i was at no time threatening to this gp and never would be to a women on her own as i do have respect for people as i am often told as my life just revolves around hospitals at the moment and spoke to her no diferent to anyone else who i speak to
cheers

Litigation isn't going to improve your health.

Get hold of PALS - Patient Advice and Liasion Service - via your local hospital and go through the problems you have had with them. Ask them to help get your all health concerns assessed and treated promptly.

If you are going to pursue legal action you need to have done something to try to put it right. Even if you do pursue it, it takes years and yeasr and in the meantime your health is still poor. I'd say getting your symptoms treated ought to be your priority.

Lack of choice of insulin for newly diagnosed patients.
Dog owners who let their dogs poop in the street-a hazard for most, but worse if you're visually impaired!

Hi Pat,
You shouldn't communicate with this practice any more-it's just going to put you at risk of having them twist things. Don't let them get to you . You should report the whole episode to your local PCT as soon as possible. Chances are if your ex-GP surgery have treated you this badly, other ex-patients will probably have had similar experiences and reported it to the PCT(primary care trust). If you speak to the right person, they will take action, and they may already have concerns about your doctor.
I had a ****** time with a couple of GPs over the years, wish I'd complained. If u don't it leaves you bitter. By taking action, you'll also be helping other patients.
Very best of luck with your new doctor :) ,can't be any worse than the last one, by the sound of it.
