Well, it looks like I may well be going on holiday on Friday with a black eye!

I have somehow managed to get tangled in the lawn mower lead and performed a very slow motion fall which culminated in me lying between a bush and the garden wall, having smacked my cheek bone on the pond's water pump.

I now have an egg shaped lump at the top of my cheek bone, large enough to distort my contact lens and make my vision blurry, which has started to show purple.

I'm meant to be going out tonight, but I'm not sure i fancy sporting the Quasimodo look. :bag:

Ouch! Oh dear Rosie that does sound painful. Have you had it checked out? x

Ooooo .. Poor you .. I hope your sitting with your feet up and a cold compress on the bump ... Considering a trip to A&E to get the eye looked at and to rule out a fractured cheek bone !

Poor you, maybe get your eye looked at if the blurry vision doesn't go away. Hope your OK for Friday and you have a great holiday :)

Sorry to hear that Rosie - that sounds nasty.
Iboprofen/ice to reduce some of the swelling?:blackeye:

Ouch!!! That sounds so painful - hope you manage to get some pain relief sorted. As for the holiday why not try a very large pair of dark sunglasses and go for the I'm a celebrity look.

That 's a an ouch :inpain:, I hope you start to feel better by Friday. Take good care.

The swelling is going and the bruise is arriving. Must dig out those sunglasses!

You poor thing! Hope you feel better soon. Might be tempted to get it checked out at A&E? Have a good holiday and don't forget to pack your sun glasses! Where are you going?

That looks sore. I once gave myself a black eye just before Christmas when playing squash, so I know how much it can hurt.

Hope you are going somewhere sunny, or you are going to look a tad odd!

I gave myself broken glasses and a black eye literally walking in to a post many years ago.

I do sympathise, looks painful. Although my eye looked worse than it felt!!!

The eye is more swollen and a lot blacker today, but these things seem to look worse before they get better. I'm annoyed as I have last minute holiday bits to shop for and I don't want to go out looking like this! Oh well, there's still tomorrow.

We are off to Bavaria in our van. It'll be the dog's first trip abroad, though I doubt she'll notice. We might get as far as Austria, but we are more the pootle along type of tourists, so tend not to crunch the miles for the sake of it.

I hope you have a great holiday Rosie.
I would get it checked out before you go, if its more swollen it might be infected.

The swelling is going down and the edges of the blackest parts are now starting to turn yellow, so it's ripening nicely! I am still getting headaches, but am pretty sure it's on the mend.
