I need to get a flu jab, I can't remember if you have to make an appointment or just walk in? Anyone know?
 
It depends on your surgery.
Mine have a walk-in clinic between certain hours. My parents have set appointment. I have also found out that you can get it at some pharmacists which are easier for me.
 
The NHS flu jab is free at some pharmacies in England, seemingly without an appointment. My GP's surgery have set flu jab clinics on certain dates and you need to ring to make an appointment. If you attend for other matters, though, I've known them to offer it whilst you are there. It's worth giving your surgery a ring to make sure.
 
My GP has open clinic hours for that as it is and 'in and out' job. A lot of corporate companies also offer the flu jab to its workers.
 
I had to make an appt, which was in a couple of weeks, however my gp dsn did it whilst I was with her this morning to save a trip.
I’ve however just hypo’d after lunch and I’m not sure why, have people had instances where the jab has affected BG? (Sorry for random question I’m a newbie t1 so still trying to get the hang of all this!)
 
Hi @Alex_B Give your GP a call and see when their clinic is ? You will have to book an appointment.
 
Hi @lou258 Generally your levels will be slightly raised for a couple of days, so the jab shouldn't cause a hypo. Do you think you may of taken too much quick acting/not enough carbs for breakfast ? Also excessive exercise can contribute to a hypo.
 
Thanks @juciyj. I don’t think I miss counted my insulin but wouldn’t say for sure! And only been pottering around as normal, nothing excessive. Maybe I’m just having one of those days :)
 
Keep a watch @lou258 for repeat patterns, if it happens tomorrow then you may need to review your insulin doses with your DSN as your newly diagnosed :)
