The 1st time I had the flu jab I was ill but I've had every year for about 6/7 years and I've been fine. I've been told that you might get the flu after having the jab but it won't be as bad as if you got flu without having it.Can anyone advise me please I am type1 and been offered flu jab but I have heard so many things from people that have had it some good some bad I really dnt know to have it or not many thanx
No one can ever rule out that a vaccination might have contributed to an illness. It's extremely unlikely and there is no real evidence that it did, but to be scientifically accurate, of course no doctor would ever rule it out. That doesn't mean it did. (BTW I have fibro too. It wreaks havoc in my life and I have no idea what caused it. I truly do empathise with you as a fellow sufferer).I would never recommend getting the flu jag as I got it once and was ill for about 2-3 weeks and now I have fibromyalgia and a specialist said he couldn't rule out that it was the flu jag as it is possible
Have a look at Bill Gates vaccination program in Africa the amount of kids he's killed or made severely disabled with his vacations is disgusting, it's all about the big pharmaceutical money making machine
Sorry to hear about your needle phobia. There may be treatment available through a registered psychologist. I wish there was more treatment available and highly accessible because I think a lot of people have this phobia.I had the (real) flu once about 10 years ago when I was fitter and non-diabetic. It was awful and I felt really ill, hardly able to even stand for a week. I wouldn't like to go through that again.
The practice nurse did offer me the flu jab when I was diagnosed T2 last month. She said I would be affected more by flu now that my immune system is weaker. I told her I didn't like injections but would think about it.
I have a real phobia about needles and injections, going back to childhood. I have only had one injection in almost 60 years since my childhood immunisation vaccinations. I don't even have injections when travelling overseas to countries where it is recommended.
One of the reasons I thought I would never get diabetes is because I thought my fear of insulin injections would prevent me from eating too unhealthily. That didn't work unfortunately. But I am determined to keep my condition under control by diet and exercise so that hopefully I won't need to inject insulin.
It's only injection into muscle that scares me. I don't mind the needles into veins for blood tests, and I used to give blood for years.
I did have a flu vaccination once at work, but that year they did it with a high pressure spray through the skin. I would do that again if it was available, or by nasal spray, but I really can't face an injection.
It's possible that if you hadn't had the pneumonia jab, your infection would have been more severe and lasted longer.I had flu in 2000 that made me extremely ill, and took 6 months to recover from, 2 months of which I could not walk comfortably as it inflamed my hip joints. Never again thankyou, I will take the jab. However I think the pnuemonia one is not as good as it sounds as I still got pnuemonia last year, which knocked me out for about 6 weeks.
Sorry to hear you were so unwell. Might be a good idea to let your GP know, so it can be reported, as there may be other people having similar reactions. The more info they get the better, so they can tweak next year's vaccine.I have been having the jab for a great number of years with no reactions, --- Except --- This year.. Have been real ill with it, migraines, nausea, light headed, chest pain, and a bruise on my arm that looks like I've been in a collision with an express train carrying purple/blue/black inks, from the elbow to the shoulder.
Started a day or so after the injection, and just easing off now 7 days later...
But I suppose it's still better than the flu..
I have been told that a nasal spray is available for children, I am going to ask the nurse if I can be given that when I see her in November.Sorry to hear about your needle phobia. There may be treatment available through a registered psychologist. I wish there was more treatment available and highly accessible because I think a lot of people have this phobia.
Hi. The only way you're going to find out for sure is to have it done... I swear by them. My work colleagues and family have been snivelling away (not with flu, just bad colds, although my bloke just knows his is full blown flu!) And I've either not caught it at all or its been very mild and I'm convinced it's the flu jab helping. Before I started having them I went down with everything. If you do feel bad after having it then you know not to try next year but you might find it's worth it if you have a sniffle free winter. You've got nothing to lose by giving it a shot. Or by getting a shot lol. You might not get any nasty side effects. Then it's win win. Whatever you decide hope you stay germ free! XxCan anyone advise me please I am type1 and been offered flu jab but I have heard so many things from people that have had it some good some bad I really dnt know to have it or not many thanx
...Same last year and of course its now common knowledge that they got last years mix wrong and was ineffective.
... doctors I believe are paid to give them so its a money earner and not always as honest as my mothers doctor was.
