Can anyone advise me please I am type1 and been offered flu jab but I have heard so many things from people that have had it some good some bad I really dnt know to have it or not many thanx
The 1st time I had the flu jab I was ill but I've had every year for about 6/7 years and I've been fine. I've been told that you might get the flu after having the jab but it won't be as bad as if you got flu without having it.

Acceptance of health treatment claims that are not adequately supported by evidence. I dislike it when people sell ineffective and even harmful alternative health products to exploit the desperation of people with chronic illness.
I would never recommend getting the flu jag as I got it once and was ill for about 2-3 weeks and now I have fibromyalgia and a specialist said he couldn't rule out that it was the flu jag as it is possible

Have a look at Bill Gates vaccination program in Africa the amount of kids he's killed or made severely disabled with his vacations is disgusting, it's all about the big pharmaceutical money making machine
No one can ever rule out that a vaccination might have contributed to an illness. It's extremely unlikely and there is no real evidence that it did, but to be scientifically accurate, of course no doctor would ever rule it out. That doesn't mean it did. (BTW I have fibro too. It wreaks havoc in my life and I have no idea what caused it. I truly do empathise with you as a fellow sufferer).

Bill Gates has not killed or severely disabled kids in Africa, and big pharma makes very little money from vaccines - they would make much more money treating sick people if there were no vaccines. Here is some factual information about Gates and Africa:

I had the (real) flu once about 10 years ago when I was fitter and non-diabetic. It was awful and I felt really ill, hardly able to even stand for a week. I wouldn't like to go through that again.
The practice nurse did offer me the flu jab when I was diagnosed T2 last month. She said I would be affected more by flu now that my immune system is weaker. I told her I didn't like injections but would think about it.

I have a real phobia about needles and injections, going back to childhood. I have only had one injection in almost 60 years since my childhood immunisation vaccinations. I don't even have injections when travelling overseas to countries where it is recommended.

One of the reasons I thought I would never get diabetes is because I thought my fear of insulin injections would prevent me from eating too unhealthily. That didn't work unfortunately. But I am determined to keep my condition under control by diet and exercise so that hopefully I won't need to inject insulin.

It's only injection into muscle that scares me. I don't mind the needles into veins for blood tests, and I used to give blood for years.
I did have a flu vaccination once at work, but that year they did it with a high pressure spray through the skin. I would do that again if it was available, or by nasal spray, but I really can't face an injection.
Sorry to hear about your needle phobia. There may be treatment available through a registered psychologist. I wish there was more treatment available and highly accessible because I think a lot of people have this phobia.

I had flu in 2000 that made me extremely ill, and took 6 months to recover from, 2 months of which I could not walk comfortably as it inflamed my hip joints. Never again thankyou, I will take the jab. However I think the pnuemonia one is not as good as it sounds as I still got pnuemonia last year, which knocked me out for about 6 weeks.
It's possible that if you hadn't had the pneumonia jab, your infection would have been more severe and lasted longer.

Had my jab this morning. Didn't feel the injection, and no reaction (though early days I guess). I've been having the jab for quite a few years now - I know that protection is not guaranteed, but not had flu for as long as I can remember, and having the jab seems a very worthwhile precaution for me.

I have been having the jab for a great number of years with no reactions, --- Except --- This year.. Have been real ill with it, migraines, nausea, light headed, chest pain, and a bruise on my arm that looks like I've been in a collision with an express train carrying purple/blue/black inks, from the elbow to the shoulder.
Started a day or so after the injection, and just easing off now 7 days later...
But I suppose it's still better than the flu..

People that can't listen to other people's opinions.
People that can't say sorry.
Fab flu clinic yesterday. In 3 hours we raised £207 for our patients!!

Much quieter at the flu clinic than last year as the chemists get paid more than GPs to give them and a record doesn't actually go to your NHS file if done at chemist. The chemists have been grabbing most of our patients.

We took surveys at clinic too and had such a lovely banter with patients..

This was the best prize in our raffle....well in my opinion..

Sorry to hear you were so unwell. Might be a good idea to let your GP know, so it can be reported, as there may be other people having similar reactions. The more info they get the better, so they can tweak next year's vaccine.

I have had the flu jab ever since they started doing them, I used to get really bad hay fever but haven't had it since getting flu jabs, and I have moved area several times.

Flu is like love most people think they've had it but until they get the real thing then they know.

Had mine most years, may have an achy arm for a while and I've had some cold symptoms afterwards, but much better than being seriously unwell and risking DKA!

I have been told that a nasal spray is available for children, I am going to ask the nurse if I can be given that when I see her in November.

First year I had mine I had no problems. Last year I ended up in bed for a week. Injection site was hard, red and very hot and sore. I couldn't get out of bed for three days. I was so weak and I ached from head to foot. I seem to have had cold, sore throat and been unwell since. Not bothering this year. I never had a cold for about 10 years before I had the jab.

Hi. The only way you're going to find out for sure is to have it done... I swear by them. My work colleagues and family have been snivelling away (not with flu, just bad colds, although my bloke just knows his is full blown flu!) And I've either not caught it at all or its been very mild and I'm convinced it's the flu jab helping. Before I started having them I went down with everything. If you do feel bad after having it then you know not to try next year but you might find it's worth it if you have a sniffle free winter. You've got nothing to lose by giving it a shot. Or by getting a shot lol. You might not get any nasty side effects. Then it's win win. Whatever you decide hope you stay germ free! Xx

Diabetes!
I used to swear by them and have had them for well over 20 years with no problem until either 2011 or 12 I think and I thought my balance problem was back............have inner ear problems.

The doctor refused to treat me as I requested.............too much time, would have to move office around etc etc. She gave me some tabs, cant remember the name and I got better slowly.

However the same year my elderly mother had a problem after the jab, same as me and her doctor told her that it would be the flu jab which had had Virus N1 something in, think its the bird flu virus but cant remember.

So the fo;owing year I checked WHO to see what they were putting in it that year and yes it was still there so had no flu jab, Same last year and of course its now common knowledge that they got last years mix wrong and was ineffective.

Havent checked this year but unlikely I will have it this year either because cant afford my balance to totally go again.

So check and see whats in it. doctors I believe are paid to give them so its a money earner and not always as honest as my mothers doctor was.

I havent had flu or a cold for years.................hope that is not tempting fate!

Now to decide what to do about the giant blisters that have appeared on top of two toes tonight!

No, it wasn't "ineffective", it was less effective than usual, because the strains that came around were not in the vaccine. This has now been corrected. The less effective strain last year still saved many lives and prevented a lot of suffering.

Doctors are compensated for their services with this product like any other. If a doctor is dishonest, make a formal complaint about them. They are required to practice ethically, like any other profession.
