Type 2 FLYING

I would always advise carrying any medication with you on the plane, in case luggage goes missing. Even if it’s stuff that would be easily replaceable where you’re travelling to, sorting that kind of thing out will just take valuable time out of your trip.

Soon I will be flying abroad so apart from my insulin can all my other medication go into the hold
I would keep all of my medication with me if I was you, for a start what happens if you luggage gets lost or delayed.

As a follow up to the question about meds in the hold, I know all about insulin freezing in the hold but if I wrap them up in my thermal socks do you think that would work
No, if it gets frozen you need to ditch it and use some that has not been frozen, do not risk it, keep it with you in your carry on luggage

I wouldn't put any insulin in a thermal sock in the hold either, will still have the potential to freeze, so not a good idea.

All medication should go in hand luggage, do not risk putting anything in the hold, it's not worth the risk, also take x3 of what you will need, I have learned the hard way of the risks involved in travelling without enough medical equipment and had to cut short a holiday because of this.
