I'm sure there's more.
Just got home feeling a little spaced out and odd took my bloods and they are 13.
I've been out and about most of the day and night and feeling the need for some grub had no choice but to go to Maccys drive through .... nothing else for miles.
Had a Buffalo spicy chicken complete with white bread bun washed down with a latte and a twirl.
It was wonderful but I feel ill now!
Why do we do we do these dumb things to ourselves?
I was doing so well and just threw caution to the wind.
I can't say I didn't know what I was doing.
I'll take a chance .... I'll be all right but we know we won't be all right.
13!!!!!! worrid.gif

Sometimes we need a blow out to get back on track. Don't beat yourself up about it. Today is a new day!!

13 after that? Surprised it wasn't higher. At least you recognise it and the futility of eating that stuff. Wonder what it might have been without the bun? That by the way is NOT a suggestion you try that but at least you know.

I still feel a little rough.
Kidney ache kind of thing bad head hangover type feelings and my back problems worse than usual.
Is this how I was feeling all the time before I took control .... is this how the people on here who have regular readings in double figures feel all the time and maybe not realise how much better they could feel.
Never again ........

Until fairly recently 13s and higher was pretty normal for me in the evenings and no, I never felt like that.

You're only human JTL, we are all capable of falling off the wagon.
The important thing is that you brush the bread crumbs off your clothes and climb back on.

You're only human ..... but I want to be able to say ... come on you can do better than that ... after all you're human!
Nah I know what you mean.

I think I got off lightly then.

Just in case you get caught out again (life happens!), have a think and plan your attack beforehand ;)

When I've been reduced to Maccies (threat of hypo is a powerful motivator), I usually choose
the biggest, meatiest burger, then discard at least half the bun
Bottle of water to drink, not OJ or latte, because of the milk
No fries, but I might have cheese dipper blobby things, if they are doing them.

Usually don't go higher than 7.5 after that... Especially if I scrape the sickly sweet tomato sauce out too.

Hope that helps.

You are not the only sinner JLT as I had a beef burger with bacon and big chips for lunch with a cup of tea and a biscoff caramalised biscuit. I only ate half of the bun and not all of the chips but didn't test for three hours after and I was 5.2 so well pleased. Hopefully my BS was on it's way down not up by then!!!

JTL, we are sinners! I've never been affected my McD or Burger King.

One afternoon, I did sin and my wife wasn't pleased! I was feeling a little weak and peckish, and I fancied going to Costa in our local town. Now, my wife could have driven us home in 10 minutes. NO! I needed something NOW!

Went to Costa and ordered a flat white coffee with 2 cheese and ham paninis!! Of course, like most processed foods, it was great. When I got home I checked my blood and I think it was about 14! I wasn't ill - just felt ashamed and disgusted! No more Costa food please.

Therefore I shall continue to check myself, even if my GP doesn't like it. We all make mistakes, but need to be able to decide what to do about it.

Frank.

If you have to go to Maccies, they actually do a salad now, it's not bad.

I hate going there because of the banana milk shakes, aaaagggggghhhhhh!!!!!

Somebody will talk about chip butties next!!!!
