If you are taking Forxiga - regardless of whether you have any of the contraindications or not - PLEASE make sure you test for Ketones regularly.
I was diagnosed as just starting with Type 2 in March 2015. In June 2015 I was put on Forxiga. 3 weeks later I was in intensive care with DKA and told I had probably 12 hours to live. This was caused by Forxiga. My blood sugars were brilliant - always under 6 but behind the scenes the tablets were doing the damage.
I can't impress on you enough, if you're taking Forxiga you MUST test for Ketones.
My pancreas is now damaged and because of this, I'm now a Type 1 and this has affected me enormously. Please be careful with these tablets.
