Found out today & confused. Help please

I am so sorry I am getting worked up. I have depression annd anxiety which I take tablets for as well so things get on top of me. I will drink loads and loads tomorrow and hope that helps

The only other thing I can think of is protein... Have you been eating more protein lately?

Mind you, I don't actually know if digesting large amounts of protein darkens the wee, that is just a wild guess.

Well I sent the picture (disgusting I know) to my sisters. One says it's just very dark the other says it does look like there is a bit of blood in it

Should I worry or just hold tight till monday and my appointment

No worries! Things always seem much worse during the night. See if you are still worried in the morning, and maybe ring up and ask your doctors for the results of your kidney test. Google will give you the correct range, and if your results are in that range, it'll be another weight off your mind. :)

Thanks I had those results back and he didn't mention my kidneys just the sugar

I just went to the toilet again and the funny thing is it's a nice light yellow again. It's only once a day it comes out dark and like it may have a hint of blood in it.

BTW guys I bought the kit on amazon just now thanks for the advice on what to go for.

Hi there,
How about keeping a record of what you're eating and what symptoms you're getting? Something as simple as eating beetroot can colour urine. Dehydration can also darken the colour and of course other conditions - but if you're not getting other symptoms such as stomach pains etc then it's not obvious what will be causing it.
Having a food/activity and symptom diary might help you to pinpoint what is going on, or at least give your doctor a more detailed record of what's happening. Make a note of urine colour, stool colour, frequency and how you're feeling (try to stay calm!)
Follow everyone's advice about low carb - that will help bring your blood glucose levels back down and this should make you feel much better. Also, it sounds sensible not to drink alcohol - just until you've had all your test results back.
For a quick outline on what foods to eat you may like to take a look at http://www.teambloodglucose.com/TeamBG/Kit_bag_Food.html
For more detailed info, there is also loads of great advice here on the forum on what to do.
Sending you a big cyber hug of support. Bx:)

Oh,
One other thought - you don't eat much meat? Make sure you're not deficient in vitaminB12 - a symptom of a deficiency is numbness and 'pins and needles'
Marmite on a lump of cheese will do the job.;)

Thanks for the help. I am just trying to write a shopping list now of things to get in but can't think what to get as everything I look at is high carbs. I don't usually cook so for me it's always been a ready meal or tin of soup. OOohhhhh marmite on cheese yummy.

How long does it take to start feeling better? I had a bad night last night shaking and today I feel tired and my body keeps jerking when I try and relax plus I feel light headed. I've been drinking loads of water. Also just reserved an exercise bike in argos to pick up later to get myself fit and active.

Apart from the diet/recipe sections on here, there's also a great book called 'Carbs & Cals' which is just photos of foods and meals with values of carbs, calories, fat etc for each. In the supermarket spend some time reading the labels and see what is less than 5g total carbs per 100g, or certainly less than 10g to start with.

Good luck, you'll be fine.

I have that book. It was my bible the first few months, and I still use it regularly. You can get it on Amazon.

I wonder if your bad night was down to anxiety rather than anything else? You have posted other threads that show you were really worried about things last night. I know it's hard, but do try to relax and occupy your mind with other things. The diabetes will get sorted. Baby steps.

Just to touch on the protein suggestion earlier,,, I take in a lot of protein (150-200g a day) as I am the Gym a lot and training for the North run right now. It can make a change to urine colour and I have even heard from lads on one of the fitness forums reporting it makes his foamy,,, usually with myself it will be darker right after a protein shake,,but more of a really strong yellow than tea,, but then everybody's different. Also any sudden changes to lifestyle and diet could also be a cause, I wouldn't worry but I would mention it nest time you see the GP or take in a sample.
