Fractured my coccyx...

Sorry to hear of your fall, it sounds excruciatingly painful.

Codeine is an opiate and can cause nausea and also constipation but its a very effective pain killer and needs to be taken regularly as prescribed for the best results, your GP can also prescribe you a laxative and Cyclizine for your nausea it works very quickly and if taken once a day you will feel no nausea again while taking the codeine.

As for sitting either a neck pillow or you could also try placing a cushion either side of your chair, one for each cheek so to speak, so that your coccyx is not touching the chair base. Or how about laying on your side on a sofa, that could work perhaps.

Hope it becomes more comfortable for you soon

Pray to whatever that you heal properly. I slipped on some frozen mud outside once, and landed on my tailbone. Never broke anything, had to use a donut cushion for two weeks though.

It has been 7 years and I still get discomfort in the muscle surrounding it, especially when doing squats or lunges.

Did you fracture it too, or bruise? It's so painful. I'm going for a family meal tomorrow night too, and I'm gonna be sitting like a weirdo!
It hurts so much this morning lol!

I fancy it was bruised? (To be fair.)
I smashed it hard on the corner of a flight of mossy concrete steps when I slipped on the way down..

It smarted at the time. But felt worse for some reason, the following day.. & gave greif a while after..

Hi all. Still hurting but managed to get myself one of those neck pillows you take travelling with you. It's helping a lot! Also having codeine but it's making me really tired still

I did the same a couple of years ago, codeine made me feel drunk, my doctor gave me tramadol and that helped, unfortunately you just have to rest ... not nice at all xx
