I am new to the Libre - day 13 of my first sensor. So far, all seems to be well. I run most days and sweat quite a bit but it has stayed on without the need to tape it or wrap it. I've swum twice and it's still stuck firmly to my arm. In terms of accuracy, it's absolutely fine. I am really pleased with it. I love how convenient it is and I'm addicted to the new details I'm discovering about my diabetes after 39 years as a type 1. I really love this system.
However, I have a Nexus 6P phone and would love the convenience of using that instead of the supplied reader but the Abbott app, Librelink, isn't available for that phone, despite it being Google's flagship phone. Does anyone know when the app will be updated to include the Nexus 6P or does anyone have any experience of using any other apps. I read somewhere that someone had problems with the Nexus 6P damaging the sensor. Does anyone have any knowledge of this?

I don't have an android but if it has a RFID reader then I would have thought it will work.

With Android you can install apps manually with the APK file. Have a search for installing APK files and see of you can get hold of the LibreLink APK file.

Your best bet for information on this are the facebook groups - they maintain a list of the phones that kill sensors. I'm surprised that the 6P isn't supported. Are you linked to the UK Play Store?

I'd suggest that you'd be best asking Abbott directly about when support will be available as they are best placed to know.

There are other apps out there (they are rounded up here: http://www.diabettech.com/freestyle...a-quick-round-up-of-the-phone-apps-available/ - there may be more now, and that post is a little out of date) - so you could try them. The Glimp app has now been updated to run in CGM mode in an armband placed over the sensor and talks to NightScout. They've also worked out how to start the sensor using Glimp (the app is called Glimp S). All this comes with a "Use at your own and your sensor's risk" warning", and is part of what drove the LibreLink app!

I'm reporting a loss of a sensor in circumstances that caution that users should take care when sweating a lot, picking up on Eponym's comment on running and sweating but not having issues with his sensor. I was undertaking 'extreme' gardening in rare sunshine (west of Scotland) and indeed did sweat a lot. Unfortunately I failed to notice that the sweating had caused my shirt to adhere to the sensor and quite likely was affecting the adhesive at the same time. As I removed my shirt the sensor came away sticking to the shirt rather than to me. Moral - be careful when removing wet clothing and ensure the sensor is held against your body as much as possible during undressing. I suspect if I had been aware of this and had supported the sensor then during drying out the sensor adhesive would have regained adherence and I wouldn't have had 9 days written off with the unglued sensor.

Thanks, I'll look into this.

Edit: its a NFC reader not RFID.

I spoke to a collegue about it today and the actual method is called sideloading (something to help the search)

Thanks for this. Yes, it's the UK Play Store; the app is available for the earlier Nexus 6 but not 6P. Might give Glimp a go.

I tried Glimp via my Nexus 6P this afternoon, with about an hour of life left in my sensor. It took the first reading with no problem, the second failed and the third stopped the sensor working. Won't be using my phone again.

I suspect that's why Libre link isn't available for the 6p. For some reason some of the NFC implementations just don't work.
