I got told I could have a 6 months trial with the freestyle libre. I had to do training and I did that on the 28th of may. On that date I was told that the starter kit is automatically sent out when I register for the online training ( I registered in the 15th of may).I have still not recieved it .I also got a copy of the letter that the hospital sent to my gp to put the sensors on my prescription. Which I recieved last week. They are still not on my prescription.
Now I'm starting to get worried.
Has anyone else had this experience or know how long it takes for the starter pack to arrive when it is for the 6 months ?

Well if I were you I'd go straight to the source and enquire as to whats happening with it, not every area goes about it in the same way and those ways have obviously changed with whats happening right now so the only way your going to get answers is to get in touch with the people you need to directly xx

The term “new normal “
I ordered sensors directly, arrived the next day. I’m in a different country though.

Hi @Nat...

I feel you can probably guess these are unprecedented times regarding the whole covid19 stuff affecting normal procedures?

But I would suggest you contacted your Doctor's surgery regarding the amendment to your repeat prescription..

Best wishes.

Yep, in the UK though (if you are getting them on the NHS), you have to get your prescription from the Dr and then collect your sensors directly from a pharmacy. Your way sounds like a lot less hassle, do you get yours 'free'? x

Hi there, once I was told I was getting one it took about 2 weeks to get the first sensor/pack which I got from the Diabetes Nurse who took me through how it worked at the hospital. After that it took about 10 days to actually appear on my prescription which now gives me 2 at a time (a month's supply). With everything going on now, if I were you I would ring the hospital and then the Drs to get it sorted, I got my first ones off them even though it wasn't showing on my repeat prescriptions so they may be a little behind, once I spoke to the Doc though it went straight on. I don't think they'll give you the whole 6 months supply at once. x

Paid full price on my own for a couple sensors, just so I could get an idea what was going on around the clock. At 90 Singapore bucks each, I would need some sort of insurance or assistance for long term use.

Thank you. I got in touch with my hospital and it turns out they hadn't sent it yet,but thought it had been sent. This was the case for someone else as well. They suggested I get them from my prescription in the meantime and use my phone to scan while I wait for the reader.

Hopefully it won't take long now. I had to order mine once then ring and ask my GP to add it as a repeat item after I'd had my first set of sensors prescribed. Not really sure why this was necessary before it appeared on my repeat order list online, but at least the GP warned me this is their system. I've also had the sensors successfully delivered by Pharmacy2U throughout lockdown, incase you're not able to get to a pharmacy. Enjoy the sensors!!
