Hi I’ve been type 1 almost 50 years, I’ve managed alone most of my life, have a family but no one who really understands how hard managing this disease is with so called normal life as well. Not very good with techno things so hope I’ve done this ok ? Looking for people who may be lonely looking for support buddies in Worcestershire area of uk. Thanks

Hi Sharon,

There was "is" a T1 meet up club in your area with the name "Meter mates." It was started in late 2019? We had a meet up just before the lockdowns of 2020.
I'll tag in the organiser @Juicyj .
Now oddly I live in the south west but was born in Worcester & drove up for the meet.
I myself have been type one for nearly 45 years & there was a cross section of other T1s attending. :)

Hopefully there will be a return for another one. & many more once this COVID shenangins is pretty much quashed?

Hi @Sharon40_

Yes we are hoping to get going again I am just waiting for confirmation from Diabetes UK when it’s ok to restart, lots of us found it good to meet others and share stories, we were meeting at Waitrose on the London Road as they have a community room and quite conveniently a cafe next door for teas and coffees ! Everyone is lovely and some good friendships have been made so please look out for us on Facebook as I’ll announce there when we can restart :)

Thanks for info, I have been joined the face book group, so hopefully will know when meetings re start.

Brilliant :) not sure when we can get it rolling again, just depends what the Gov decides, but will post updates on the site when we know more.
