I always buy no added sugar squashes never thought they altered my readings when testing.
But I got Ribena winter spice squash with no added sugar and as I am trying to cut down on coffee of an evening, I do by the way always have decaf tea and coffee but find coffee still disturbs my sleep pattern.
But last night I did not test after my evening meal and after having the squash my reading went up to 16.4 it was 9 this morning. Now I don't know what to do?
I choose no added sugar ones but check the carb count. My favourite is Tesco’s own brand NAS Lemon Squash at <0.1g carbs per 100mls undiluted, which makes 0.2g per 250mls diluted. Some others are higher so always good to read the label for naturally occurring sugars in the fruit.I would not buy any squash simply because they have lots of hidden sugars and carbs!
I would suggest making your own drinks instead and here are some delicious and healthy low carb and sugar free ideas -
