Type 2 very well co trolled with low carb . Then diagnosis with PMR and given steroids. Yeap up goes blood sugar. Felt shocking. Nurse prescribed gliclazided. Made no difference to blood results. Seen 2 GPs and they told me need to see Diabetic nurse as they don't know anything about diabetes. But the surgery doesn't have a diabetic nurse at the moment. So frustrated and feeling rotten.
So took my diabetes into my own hands. Stricter with my diet, came off the gliclazide and they had lowered the steroid dose. So now in pain with PMR but blood sugar under control. Only thing they are saying now is I'm testing too often.
So frustrated that they seem to leave us to manage ourselves. NHS struggling to deal with the numbers of patients. I know they are doing their best but I've learnt not to rely on them. Stay strong.
