Helping my father during his last year, taking him in my home eventually and making sure his life and his death were as comfortable as possible considering the circumstances.
It took a lot of work pressing help and his doctor into doing things just the way which fit my father, and a lot of googling too to find the right help and tratment and stuff.
It also prepared me well for standing up for and educating myself when I was diagnosed with diabetes two years later, an unexpected bonus that has definitely made that transition smoother!
Big far holiday by plane or staying closer to home and travel by train or car?
