Hello, I have been trying to get back on track with testing my blood glucose levels. I was just wondering if you have any tips on how to get back in to a routeen with doing so??

I confess my testing motivation is fear - fear that if I don't know my BG, I can't correctly treat my diabetes and I risk complications. But I guess some people would suggest that they would rather not know so their fear controls them not to test.

Looking it more positively, some of my hobbies are easier/more fun if my BG is in range. For example, I have no energy to climb if my BG is too high.
So, perhaps, you could find something you enjoy which is better when your BG is in range ... or something you want to do but diabetes is holding you back.

Other than that, I would just suggest trying to make it a habit like cleaning your teeth is a habit every morning and every night.

Agree with @helensaramay I share the same fear that I need to know what my BG is doing so I can either correct or treat. Also so I carry on doing what I enjoy doing, so before a run I need to know that I am above 6mmol/l but below 10 so I can enjoy my run as otherwise I am unable to.

I work on the basis that as long as I know what my BG is doing then it won't affect what I need to be doing, whether it's exercising, socialising, driving, shopping or working. Testing to me is second nature in that I instinctively do it without thinking.

How come you have lost your routine ?
