Re: getting woke up with cold sweats is this normal with ty

Hi Sarg
Are you testing your blood sugar when you wake? As it can be a symptom of a night time hypo.

Deffo a hypo effect in T2 so I'll guess its the same in T1

You might need to adjust your night time injection.

well maybe its the same as me sometimes ive woke with the bed pillows soaked in sweat with a vinegar type smell

Hi sarg, I know exactly what you mean as this has happened to me several times from my experience I would say you may need to lower your 24 hour insulin, I take levemir at night and when I found I was doing this and my blood sugars were fine I lowered my insulin level by 2 units and found it eventually stopped, id ring your consultant to see if this would be suitable for you to try, hope this helps - good luck !

I used to get this. I assumed it was my body getting used to normal BG levels again as they soon stopped a couple of months after i was diagnosed

The only times I have woken drenched (and often shivering as I get cold with all that sweat) is after a nasty night hypo…and when I say drenched - you could almost wring my PJs yuk! Hope you get it sorted, definitely check for lows at night.

It happened to me last night. I'm a type 2 and just recently been diagnosed so was not sure whether it was the effect of gymn or what?
