Im currently taking 1000 mg sr x 1 in a morning with 2 80mg glicazide then 1 of each on an evening... been taking these for just over a week due to having +20 readings...
when should i see a drop in readings as currently sat between 17 and 24 on every reading, fasting or post food...
What should be by next step.. TIA

Hello @Dave2016 It may help if I move your thread into the type 2 section for more visibility and responses, please let me know if your ok with this ?

Are you still eating the same things which gave you the high readings before taking the tablets?
If so, I can only advise that fewer carbohydrates is going to be the next logical step towards reducing BG levels, as it seems a more powerful and effective way of dealing with the problem than medication for many type twos.

If it was me, I would reduce the carbs in your diet, reduce your plate size, reduce the amount of meals you have gradually.
Increase your protein, good fats and exercise gradually. Drink more water, lower your alcohol intake, add salt.
If you have a glucometer, experiment which foods are keeping your blood glucose levels high and spike you. Keep a food diary.
Knowledge of your condition and how diet is really important for your health.

A bit of a warning, Glicizide will lower your blood glucose levels, and it could be asymptomatic of going through a period where you blood glucose levels will drop quickly then rise again depending on your carbs intake.
You will probably get false hypos, which is the same symptoms as a low blood glucose reading, but not actually a low.
Once you have some control of your blood glucose levels, you will have to discuss your dosage of Glicizide with your doctor.

Hope this helps.
