Every time I go out for an errand, visits to friends or relatives, shopping, etc.
I screw up my numbers. That's because I am on "blinders" and not measuring with my meter. I find that very difficult to do so I rely on feedback, which as you know is not as accurate. So, every now and then I usually go high, but never above say 8-10 and that only during once per day, maybe twice. I wonder how many highs in say a month are pernicious in the long run in damage, even though your average is good, i.e. 6.2 over every three months.

Anyone else tackling this?

Yep, for the last 25 years!!! Still got eyes and all my limbs. Do I worry, yes.

But you should have an idea of the types of food that will impact your BG in a big way. Thise are the foods you should avoid when you're out on a blinder.

Also - if your average is 6.2, and you are getting high's of 10ish, that means that you are also getting 9probably un-measured - maybe in the night?) low's that are below 6.2...

I take my meter everywhere always somewhere quiet where you can test if needed...

Eating out can be a bit difficult but generally if I am in town or what not then I can pick up something which shows carb content and then you should know your ratio's and how much to inject...

I don't take my ketone meter with me but I can;t remember when I last had BG's high enough to need it.
