GOOD AFTERNOON/EVENING.

@ickihun - Vicky, I would think it will be a simple 'watch and wait' with your Son - it being hormonal, and then when Puberty begins they would check to see all was in order. But, do keep me updated will you? When you go to see the Paediatrician. - William x

Hi Folks :). R and I went out this afternoon to Beningbrough Hall (10 miles out of York), Never went inside the Hall but We walked around the Hall Gardens and Kitchen Gardens because it was on the flat. Then after 2 hours headed for the Coffee Shop and had slice of their Lovely Spicy Carrot Cake and a Latte :D, and then drove home and the heavens have opened up, torrential rain and thunder. I enjoyed it and got some natural Vitamin D - knee is a bit 'niggly' - but, not painful.

Good Evening. R and I went to Temple Newsham Estate just on the outskirts of Leeds City. It is a Jacobean-Tudor House set in 15,000 acres of beautiful Parklands, Walled Garden and a working Farm that have rare breeds of Animals. I made a flask of Black Coffee for R and a flask of hot water for me and my Nescafe Sachets of Latte. We called in at Tesco and bought ready made sandwiches (Prawn Marie Rose for me and Chicken with salad for R) Did a lot of walking so I wore the strapping on my leg and twice had to sit as my knee was "stinging", luckily I took my walking stick as it was not all walking on the flat. But, had a fabulous day out. :)

So glad that you had a grest day out William, you deserve a lovely day after all of the pain and medical appointments. We had a lovely day too. Have a good rest now, rest your leg and relax for the evening.

Thank You Anna - @13lizanne and so Pleased You and LH had a Fab Time also. Think I will sleep like a Baby tonight with all the fresh air and extra Vitamin D! :p

Seen GP this afternoon and he looked at my knee. Say's it is healing well to say not quite 4 weeks ago that I fractured it. Apparently, it can take 6 - 8 weeks to heal - and told him have stepped up my leg exercises and putting more weight on it - it no longer keeps me awake at night, got some more pain relief Fenbed Forte Gel = which is good stuff. :) How you feeling Anna? - @13lizanne:)

Good Afternoon @mo53 - Have tagged you to see how you are? Not seen you posting for a few days and wondered how you were doing - Diabetes and General Well Being. Oh, and how is the garden coming along? :)

@13lizanne - Good Afternoon Anna :). Pleased you are feeling a bit better than yesterday. But, don't overtire yourself from doing too much. Take Care and sending You HUGS. William x

I'm expecting my fbg to be high in the morning as I've had no insulin, just metformin.
Too late to take it now.
God help me.

Good Afternoon Folks. Just waiting for 'someone' to be ready at the agreed time of 1.30pm!!! Off out to the Bank and to buy a few bits from the local shops and have a good rummage in the 8 Charity Shops:- for mostly books on Gardening, Cookery etc. Hope you are all enjoying your day so far :). How's your day out Anna? @13lizanne - weather here in York has changed from gloriously Sunny to dull and overcast, will probably rain because we are going out! Bye:)

I hope you have a really great day William:)

I've done the garden for a couple of hours, before the "storms arrived":)

Watching BBC News now after a trip out to a more distant garden centre - I was desperate to part with cash, but Yvonne persuaded me otherwise, with a promise if be sleeping in the sofa...it did the trick:)

We had a lovely day, thank you William. I think that we are getting the hang of this retirement lark. Did you find anything interesting in your charity shops?

@ickihun - Hi Vicky - Pleased the Metformin is working for you. Why? Did they not put you on it much sooner!!! Feeling a wee bit 'flat' at the moment!!!:(. Hope you all have a good evening. :)

What's up William? You've not been your usual cheery self for a few days now... xx

My liver had problems so was taken off it William and have to have a blood test next week to check it regularly. I'm enjoying a slice of bread, crackers and other GI carbs in small amounts without 15-16mmmol/l rearing their ugly heads. 8.8mmol/l is highest so far. It's so much more pleasurable. I was very very unhappy on low carb and high levels of insulin.
I can eat normal food, 3 times a day with no cravings or yearnings for carbs.
I'm less tired now. Now I've swopped over to metformin fully. 44 units of insulin is bearable, for now.
I've been wondering where my happy @liam1955 has been but i thought you needed a break from medical problems.
How is the knee now?
Your fbgs have been good, you must be pleased with them?
Are you having occasional lows?

I'm hoping new PM looks after the medically challenged, once again. It would be nice not to be constantly struggling financially due to Mr ickihun's illness restricting income.
I have hopes and dreams for my family and me.
How about you? Any recent ideas which could come to fruition?

And that liver function test isn't done all the time, even though it's in the literature that comes with the Metformin. When I was reading the side effects while picking up my three month supply from the pharmacist day before yesterday, I was thinking to myself that I must be crazy to take this stuff considering the cautions

I am glad you get to have some normal food again. I meet another provider tomorrow and hope this one is a goodie. i have been through some real casual presumptive, harried and hurried flskes that have negatively impacted my health instead of being the path to well being

You are a kind person and deserve every happiness
Thank you @Galja
I will be attempting low carb again but it isnt easy in my house but no excuse.
I'm on a one-man mission whilst all around me is high carb.
I have to be totally selfish in grocery shopping and cooking. Which i find unnatural. Im just one of 4 in our house.
Its not practical to run our home just for me and my needs.
Im thankful of the forums support but until financies change in my household i will be buying bread at a reasonable price instead of the expensive breads, ice cream. All low carb food except veg is expensive for my family income.
I cannot live on veg and fat alone nor my children unfortunately.
One day I might be able to and I will keep trying the low carb life now til I die. It can work for me but I'm not on my own and just able to consider myself.
I have a big job on my hands. Some days I feel fully capable of converting us all to low carb but other days I'm not.
I do appreciate your support @Galja .

Very well put, Vicky.
We are all under different circumstances and, no matter how strongly we support the LCHF ideal, it can be expensive to maintain. So we all do the best we can with what we have, and you are doing a great job of juggling your own needs with those of your family. It won't always be that way, of course, but for the time being you're winning!
Hugs x
