Hi Liam, thanks hope your well, had chest pain for about 15mins earlier, did phone doctors but told can't give appiontment they have to check with nurse first & she will ring me, I feel like just going back on the bog standard still got some, my sugars did go bit up/down but generally they were bit lower, I'd put up with (pardon me) odd tiolet problems but these heavy headaches are awful, apparently it's a side effect with metformin but never had it before, I'm asmatic but under control so don't want a breathing problem, got my annual diabetic eye check this afternoon so heavy head doesn't help, bgs on SR are bit higher in mornings & past 2 days pretty stable during day but slightly higher than on bog standard but side effects not good, maybe in time will calm down but on forum read otheres had same problem on SR, think I need to change doctor, have good day yourself x

@maureen5752 - I wonder if your Blood Pressure could be raised? I get headaches at the front of my head just in the brow area when my BP is raised. Are you on Blood Pressure tablets at all? Sending you a PM. Can you let us know if you got seen this afternoon at the Doctors? And what was said or done = Please? William x

Ive always had great blood pressure but since being diabetic had few days with high pressure but usually if anythink my blood pressure is generally low.

@ickihun - Vicky, I cook everything from scratch and don't use salt, as I use vegetable oxo's. Don't buy processed ready made meals, nor buy processed cheeses etc. This is what I have to be careful off because of fat content. Bought some Pork Sausages that are 87% Pork and reduced fat content, they will get cooked on the 'George Formby' grill and even more fat will come out. I can eat loads of Vegetable - but, I am finding that I don't feel 'full' of late.
Making a Vegetable 'mild' Curry and serving it on Brown Bismati Rice for Evening Meal today. William:)

Bloods seem to be behaving themselves today 8.8 two hours after lunch.... high still but getting there!

Good Afternoon Folks :).
As from today I am coming off this Low Fat Diet which I have been on for 14 days now. Have lost no weight, nor put any weight on. And it has been pointed out since starting it I am having mood swings!! The 'foods' are boring and my Blood sugars are going up. Yesterday evening we had 87% Pork 'fat free' sausages cooked on the George 'Formby' Grill and they tasted Yuk!
I loathe food shopping anyway, but buying low fat only increases the amount of sugar content in the product.
Today, having part steamed Cauliflower and Broccoli with a smoked bacon, onions, mushroom and cheese sauce baked in the Oven with a side dish of Carrots and Potatoes for our Evening Meal. = Yummy Food.

@Liam1955. Hi Liam yes please would love the recipe, made the curry yesterday it was great thanks, Friday night came out with lousy cold, but head & nose really stuffy , had earache, heady head, bad chest the lot, think it's effects of flu jab, (sorry) got bit constipation now think that's from SR being in my system, like you I always tried to eat low fat when I could but as you say I noticed all the sugars in it so I check everythink now & go for the lower sugar over low fat, DN is supposed to call me this week to talk, see what happens, I keep asking for my B vitamin to be checked as metformin can affect it but can't get any where, they don't seem to care, my daughter wants to cook Xmas dinner this year as its first year in her house so I'll be there Xmas day, I've offered to help out with exspenses ect, hope she accepts, won't go empty handed anyway, hope your feeling better now, liver ok? Hope say have good day everyone x

Oh @maureen5752 you poor thing, you are really having it bad of late. Just remember if you don't feel like eating? Drink plenty of fluids to keep yourself hydrated. I go off food completely when I am ill, so I just have cuppa soups - but as they are packets, got to watch the sugar content. But, then you know when ill blood sugars are going to go up slightly.
Oh that is really nice - your Daughter inviting you for Christmas Dinner:),you could offer to buy the Christmas Pudding (M & S do a luxury one) and take some Wine for dinner.
R & I always have Christmas Dinner here at home, despite everyone inviting us, but, we go up to his Parents for Christmas Day Tea and his Daughter & Hubby and New Baby, his Ex-wife & Partner all there and we are all very civilised/proper. Only thing is, his Son whose at Cambridge University is not coming home to York this Christmas - he is spending it in London with Mates. (And why not? But, his Mum is not happy). Boxing Day we all (Family) go to the ex-wife's for "Burnt offerings" :D - Dinner!!
I will send the recipe to you in a PM later today - Cannot put it on Vegetarian Thread because of Smokey bacon in it = they will give me a telling off :).
Richard's Daughter is due this Friday 21st to give birth. He is so excited like a big kid at being a Granddad.:)

P.S.. Forgot to say. Usually about once a year the blood is tested for Vitamin B12 deficiency. (Mine is anyway, cos I am Aneamic).
