@Liam1955 are you still on the patches?28/1 - Good Afternoon Folks from a very wet and raining York.
Had a lay in this morning and was pleasantly surprised of my fasting result of 6.9, before bed it was 8.5 and I even managed a wee treat yesterday evening of a slice of Carrot Cake =.
I am hoping (?) If I can keep my fasting blood sugars under 7? from now on then I will be a Happy Bunny.
Only because your readings seem to be good on them. Sorry for taking so long to reply but not getting notifications.Yes @tina_marie why do you ask?
Some days double figures . I believe one of his readings was 15. Still on the same old stuff .@tina_marie - Hi. That was my first 6.9 today and in a long time. I have been getting in the last week mostly 7's and then before a mixture of high readings, but that was due to the liquid Morphine - which have not had any for well over a week now. (Honest!).
I am wondering if the Naproxen has some influence on Blood Sugars? GP prescribed me Naproxen for the Osteoarthritis as well as the Butec 10 patch too.(For my Spine/Back pain)
For about a month now I stopped eating Breakfast and Lunch and only have 1 cooked Evening Meal, was afraid of putting on weight with not being as mobile with Spine, Leg, Ankle/Foot problems. But I did put on 4 lbs the other week - if I feel hungry during the day then I eat a Banana. I don't like ripe Bananas's but the more ripe they are the more sugar is in them apparently.
Last night I ate a slice of shop bought (R's treat) Carrot Cake about 8pm and before bed my blood sugar was 8.5 at 1.30am.
Is Ron getting high results? What tablets is he taking?
Williamx

He's not really changed much . Not sure about today as I've been in bed with this cold. Don't want him getting this on top of everything else. Do you all see a proper DN as all Ron has seen is a nurse at the surgery who really isn't much help.Has Ron reduced food intake with not been as mobile? If he is getting a lot of higher numbers - he might need to contact the Diabetes Nurse and/or his GP.
Thank you William. Big hug to you as well. X@tina_marie - Sorry to hear you are poorly - sending You a big hug and hope you get better soon.
Yes, I always see the Diabetes Nurse at my GP Surgery. I also go to the Hospital Diabetic Clinic and see the Consultant because I take Insulin everyday. But at the Hospital Clinic they only check my weight and lecture me to loose more weight.
Whereas at the GP Practise Diabetic Clinic the Diabetes Nurse checks my weight, my Urine, my Blood Pressure, my Foot Pulses, my Insulin injection sites, my Blood sugar results and a General Chat about Diabetes or anything else.
I am not sure? But, could Ron ask his GP for a referral to a Diabetic Clinic at the Hospital?
Hope this is of some help?
William.
Sending you massive hugs too, I've had this horrible hacking cough since last Thursday and it's doing my head in! Typically enough it's struck when I'm rushed off my feet so I haven't got time to rest, but at least I got a better nights sleep last night. My fbg was 8.1 yesterday and 5.9 this morning so you can see the difference it can make! Hope you feel better soon xxHe's not really changed much . Thanks hun, feeling better today. Still got the cold but been out shopping with Ron to take speedy for its test run. What a difference shopping is with someone in a wheelchair. Not only was it more comfortable for Ron but people were more inclined to step aside and let him pass. Where as if he was walking with his stick they would push past him and knock him over. I do hope that you feel better soon. XSending you massive hugs too, I've had this horrible hacking cough since last Thursday and it's doing my head in! I took liquid Milk Thistle a few years ago. It was prescribed by my NHS (those were the days ..... ) homeopath. I didn't have a fatty liver but took it to detoxify it.Good Afternoon Folks,
Hope everyone is having a good day? And the poorly people are feeling a little but better today = sending You a hug each.
Tomorrow having my Bloods done as I am seeing the Liver Specialist this Friday and not looking forward to that visit one bit!!!(Think he will give me a right B*ll*cking for not shedding the 1 stone in weight he suggested).
Will be interesting though to see what effect (if any?) the Milk Thistle tablets have had on my Liver Function?
Been taking the Milk Thistle tablets since October 2016 just 1 a day. After reading on this Forum about a Guy taking them and his Fatty Liver was no more after 6 months later.
Will update you all especially @Freema
