GOOD AFTERNOON/EVENING.

Hi K you are doing exactly the correct thing in keeping to your low carb diet, sometimes when I fast my bloods are slightly raised for a while, our livers start to use stored glycogen for energy which can show up as slightly raised bg levels but your lchf breakfast supplied your body with energy without the sugar [carbs] Everyone is different of course, but I've noticed that other regular fasters on this forum experience the same thing. It's our overall levels that count anyway and the HbA1c is quite a good indicator of how well we are doing. Keep on doing what you are doing - it's working :angelic::playful:
Thanks so much 13lizanne when you begin this journey it's daunting so much info to take in I'm wading. Through it slowly,I tried keto diet good results lost body fat and stone in weight over six weeks, now just eating what I've found is good for me through BG testing, the fasting was initially told me by my doctor he suggested skip a meal and I've taken it up a few levels to between 11/12 am/ pm and 5 pm fast till following day. Great results Has of yesterday I'm going to try having a breakfast to see what happens with BG levels and those dreaded liver dumps, and I've had good results lately with having a supper of fats and protein. So your message was most appreciated thank you always nice to hear when you get somethings right for a change! K

Hi hope I'm on right thread to post my messages, well here goes has most know I'm tying to keep my BG in check with a few hiccups along the way, it's the liver dump morning rises in BG that's been a problem, i have tried nuts ,cheese , etc then read about liver dumps on line on there it suggested ham and cream cheese rolled in slice of ham in evening, tried it last night it brought it to 5.9 this morning.
Yesterday I tried chicken and cream cheese following morning reading 5.8 so better than in 6s just.
Yesterday i had a breakfast before going out unusual for me I usually fast until lunch time. I had half avocado and two boiled eggs sprinkled with salt and pepper cup of tea.
Tested before I left house nearly two hours later 1-45 mins to be precise and BG had dropped to 4.9 so was it the advocado do you think, cannot be anything else I've had eggs on numerous occasions in last few months, never had such a BG drop before? K
@Granny_grump_ I'm delighted for you. Well done.
I love it when we catch the liver at its own game.
I honestly believe type2s have an overactive liver which has been caused by too many carbs rather than a pancreas problem initially.

Good Afternoon Folks.
Been to Hospital appointment today and it is all good results. My HBA1C has come down to 60 (was 76 in January, thanks to the Morphine).
My Liver Function Tests are good too: ALT now 66 (was 102 in January), and Gamma GT now 67 (was 99 in January) - The Low Fat Diet is obviously working and when I next see the Liver Specialist in July hopefully my numbers will be 50 or less which is what he said he would like. Waiting for my appointment to have another Fibroscan performed on my Liver and an Endoscopy done.
My Iron Count is Low though and have to re-start taking the Ferrous Fumarate (Iron) Tablets again as from tomorrow.
So, R and I went and had a Coffee and slice of Carrot Cake = well it is 1 of my 5 a day = Carrots! :D

Afternoon all, just got back from hospital. The neurologist told us he simply has no idea what's causing all Ron's problems. He has sent Ron for blood test as he is now checking for autoimmune diseases. If it turns out to be what I said it was last year kingsmill hospital will be in big trouble from me . Hope everyone is keeping well . X

I hope they just get it right and decent treatment can be started. Any improvement will help.
The tramadol is a god send. I hope he can have it too.
It knocks me out some days but others is pain-free and nearly normal in rest. Bareable in movement. Loads better than without tramadol, for sure. I twitch and jerk as I go but I'm getting used to it. I get a 90min window to do something. I have to rest otherwise I get chest pains and want to cry as I feel I've been kicked by 2 horses.
I'm hoping Ron gets relief soon. I don't know how he's going it. An inspiration to moaning me.
Here's to new home and new meds!
