Hi guys

After a couple of rather intensive weeks with the forum I've made the decision it's just not for me.

My intention was to help to be a support to people who need it based on past experience, to a certain extent I hope I have done that.

I would like to thank those that have been welcoming and come forward with some really helpful information on various topics and those that have simply made me laugh

I think it's just confirmed that social media, in any of it's forms is just not for me. Back to face to face living now.

I wish everyone the best with your lives and journeys as diabetics and hope you have a happy and healthy future.

I know it can be very difficult accepting some member's attitude at times.
I feel so sorry for you, you're really sad and disillusioned, such a shame.

The forum needs members like you.
If you could only think about it, rise above it all, ignore them and show them
what a class member you are.
Despite what they determine to achieve with their words, they probably hang
on to every word you say.
They are simply annoyed at themselves for admiring your input.

I'd forgotten all about this, but I tasted a bit of it when I first joined and became
rather upset, but was determined to stick with it.
I'm very well aware of who they are now, and they know I know who they are.

There is always a hard core who delight in upsetting members of forums,
that's their main aim when joining Forums, they live a very sad life.
Don't let them make your life sad.

Have a break if you wish, but remember the good outstanding members
are waaay over and above the number of members who enjoy upsetting
members. They are the members who make this Forum what it is.


Have a think about it.

Please don't think I'm saying anyone has been unfriendly or that I'm blaming anyone for my leaving, honestly it's just my own personal preference, I think sometimes my outlook can bother and upset others and perhaps just isn't appreciated here and I don't want to frustrate anyone just by being 'me'

I'm involved in a few support charities related to diabetes and just think perhaps I would be better re-focusing my efforts there.

Has Gemma said she is sad or disillusioned, or that anyone has been hostile and that this is the reason for leaving? That is just your perception.

I had idealistic ideas of what a forum should be like when I first joined. Real world stuff in here soon disabused me of that. It hurt. Yet, to increase my knowledge and understanding I stuck around, and have learnt so much about diabetes and about forums too. Glad I did.

Something important to remember is that a difference of opinion does not have to mean a falling out ensues.

@gemma6549 I do not mean to derail your thread, and wish you well.
