I also am on statins, Atovostatin It does not say on the box "do not eat grapefruit"i would assume it would raise your blood sugar as most fruits do, I say assume as due to te fat I am on statins I am no longer able to eat grapefruit. Times of testing can vary depending on what’s eaten, but personally I’d probably check after an hour but that’s definitely not a hard and fast rule , it’s very much down to the individual .
Dunno what brand you're on, but usually, statins and grapefruit aren't a good idea. It's not on the box, but it's commonly found on the leaflet though.I also am on statins, Atovostatin It does not say on the box "do not eat grapefruit"
I only have a quarter of a grapefruit a day, will ask next time I am due a full reviewThe patient informed leaflet contains a warning about grapefruit juice:
Honestly, when I was put on them 10 years ago, I was told no grapefruit whatsoever, or I might kick the bucket. Seems like things might've changed some, since!I only have a quarter of a grapefruit a day, will ask next time I am due a full review
@Mark Rawlinson you might find this site helpful:I have recently discovered how nice red Grapefruit is and it has become a reg after main meal addition (on quarter of one) also an apple and a pear. Will this raise my Blood sugars much I test about an hour and a half to 2 hours after ?
Thank you
