Had a fall today

Ouch, I can sympathise with you regarding the pain when it's pulled. Over four years ago I had a fall and ended up breaking my leg in two places (tib & fib). They had to pull it to put a supporting cast on it, then again after having an X-ray as it wasn't in the right position. I too had the gas and air but the second time they gave me morphine. I've never known pain like that before. I had to have my leg pinned and plated and I was in pain for several days from the break and was on strong painkillers for a while.
Hope you get on well at the hospital today. Best wishes and get well soon RRB x

Blast!
I was just looking up the side effects of codipar and nausea/vomiting can be experienced. Can't you get a home visit from your doc and get prescribed something else? Travelling with a fresh brake/fracture and no pain killers - makes me feel ill just thinking about it!:depressed: When my husband broke his wrist he was prescribed codeine which seemed to do the job without side effects - but that was him.
Thinking of you.

Paracetamol taken regularly might be enough to null the pain RRB and may not make you feel so sick.

Hope you get on OK at the fracture clinic and the break isn't too bad.

ouch :( feeling the pain and sickness. i've had co-codomol which sounds similar and actually made me high, spaced out and was sick. I realised 2 things, untill you get used to the dose take 1 tablet at a time assuming your on 2 x 4 times a day for example. Then another maybe 2 hours later and have something to eat just before or after not on an empty stomach.

its the codine in them.

Tramadol is another strong painkiller but again not everyone can tolerate it.

Hope your as ok as you can be.

Poor RRB! You must be feeling rotten. Strong painkillers are a real hit and miss thing. I can tolerate co-dydramol, but not other painkillers beginning co- I really do hope that you are soon feeling better. Make sure you get plenty of rest. If you don't sleep at night it can really affect your recovery. Get well soon.

Really hope you are feeling better. You poor thing, that's too much for anyone to put up with. Rest yourself and have a speedy return to health.

hello x my appointment Was fine this morning. Mr Bright said he was happy with what A&E staff did on SUNDAY and I am to go back next week for a xray and to see whether swelling has gone down, then possibly re plaster. not feeling too bad at the moment as Mr Bright suggested taking just plain paracetamol so I bought two packets today. my DD is helping me with bits and pieces in the house.:) I did make a joke of 'its normally the kids who break something at the start of the holidays not the parent:oops: hopefully the next few days will become more pain free and comfortable. Trying not to do a lot tomorrow and I am staying at home all day:) take care RRB X

Hi RRB, glad to hear you are feeling a little better today, take it easy and have plenty of rest. Flowers are lovely.:)

I am definitely better taking the paracatamol, no sickness at all today, but BS has been higher all day, even with corrections sochanged vial, but dropped it, drat:oops: and had to start again with a new one:rolleyes: dog walking tomorrow and food shopping for elderly dad, but my daughter and her friend are helping me.
Many thanks to all that sent such kind and thoughtful messages, it really does help the healing process. :) X
