THANKS AGAIN, WILL GET MY DD TO HELP OUT WITH RAISING SLING UP. RRB XX
Raise the sling up so that your hand is resting on your shoulder, this will help to reduce the swelling.
IT'S A PITY MR B DIDN'T TELL ME THIS ON TUESDAY THE 5TH, THE WAY HE SPOKE EVERYTHING SEEMED TO BE OKAY, UNTIL I RECEIVED THE LETTER![]()
Awww, you poor thingIt does look nasty, but some goodish news, it's common for swelling to increase after the initial injury, then it starts to subside. Daisy's and Noblehead's advice is good. Though you have an appointment on Tuesday, please do go to the Fracture clinic ASAP if the swelling increases, or you have loss of sensation or pain (more or different from what you are experiencing now ) . The F.C is the best bet, as the GP will probably refer you there anyway.
Try not to worry about the "Fracture collapse" part of the letter, it's a cautionary thing that can apply to many fractures, and doesn;t mean it;s going to happen
I hope you will become more comfortable soon.
Best wishes, and here is a cat to cheer you up...

Any pins and needles painfully in your hand or fingertips .
Best to go back and let them know off this .
I had this when busted both my arms falling over on rollerskates aged 11 .
They changed my cast said circulation was being compromised on my
right arm ( hence the pins n needles pains ) .
Yep - best to keep it elevated and try not to worry .
WE will worry 'for' you![]()
A fall really shakes you up even if it does no damage, but if you get breaks or fractures then it leaves you feeling really bad. Get well soon. A lot of people on the forum are cheering for you.

I agree with all of your previous posters. That looks really uncomfortable. Definitely point it our at clinic tomorrow. Would have posted sooner but I was admitted DKA last night. Feel better today but still not right. I won't post my A&E photo but you can have a picture of a boot instead. Much more forum friendly View attachment 6484
Oh mrs B what a horrible thing to happen, I do feel for youbut thank goodness you didn't need the right boot as well, so we are both lefties then.lol We would look a right pair walking, or hobbling, down the road wouldn't we?
Sending you my very good wishes for a speedy recovery and hoping you will be back home.soon. Take good care x
Thank you. If I wasn't chained to my hospital bed currently I'd be speeding of down the road. I'm getting quite good on crutches now
Ohhhh @Robinredbreast is this post you was on about in my post? haha x
Yes, how are you both doing now, @MrsB (nice legs, BTW, and does the boot come in purple? ) and @Robinredbreast ?

Why thank you. Have a feeling they'll be a lot skinnier after 6 weeks of little use. The boot unfortunately only seems to come in blue although my son is talking about decorating it with loom bands which could be an interesting look.
Sent hubby to boots for co-codamol yesterday (not as strong a version as the ones that made me sick) so am feeling a lot less pain![]()
