I've got one a week today ... damned diabetes
roblem:

If there's one thing I hate it's seafood so I don't know if I'm allergic to shellfish . Why the tie up with shellfish is an extract used in the manufacuture of the dye?Unbeliever said:Slightly yellow face too depending upon your colouring. Nohing to it -unless you are allergic to shellfish. There was a recen thread about it. Shygirl was the OP {I think} Several people here have had them and lived to tell the tale!
That is another procedure which is very alarming the first time because of tthe consent forms and the questions about allergies.
Apart from the dye it is not much different o the OCT scans which are a regular feature for most of us on our visits to the eye clinic.
Should definitely help to pinpoint the trouble spots and reduce he amount of laser you will need if applicable.
The message seems o be getting through about this which is good. Fewer but more eperienced /qualfied people administering
more precisely targeted treatment. Must be an improvement.

At one time they used o make a big deal of it. Calling you into a separate room to tell you about all the possible side effects and giving you tea and making you rest afterwards . The whole thing was a big deal.
Nowadays - no doubt to save money there is none of that. The nurse inserts the canula in he same room as the photos
are taken. When hey are finished you can go. No rest , no tea. Just bye bye.

If it's an iodine allergy can they not test for that ... with people so much more litigious now a days you think it would be worth their while? I suppose as you say it's quite rare to have a problem so perhaps isn't worth THEIR while.
It seems like a good idea to use less dye suppose it makes sense to only use the minimum required
