Seriously though how few calories a day do I need to eat before I lose any sort of weight!? I'm exersizing, low carbing, nothing works!!!!! My friends on the other hand diet for two weeks and the weight falls off. It's not fair :( I know it could be worse but my weight is creeping up and up and up and for the amount I eat I shouldn't look like a beached whale
Rant over - just wish I was 'normal'.

Are you keeping a food diary?

How long have you been trying and what diet plan are you following?

I'm plateauing at the mo and it's frustrating.

Check you thyroid. You are t1, aren't you? Hypothyroidism is very common in women and if you already have one autoimmune condition you are at even greater risk.

My thyroid was slightly under active a few months ago but has been tested again and is now normal.

Have you had antibodies tested?

If your thyroid showed up as slightly under active once then it probably still is so see if you can get further testing.

Have you slightly reduced your total daily insulin in line with your weight loss goals ? Type 1s struggle to lose weight unless insulin is reduced in close step with weight loss.

What type of exercise are you doing?? Many people think cardio is key for weight loss but it has been proven that weight training is key in slimming. I don't mean massive weights and bulking up, try light weights and high repetition to tone up and really helps when trying to slim down. Worth a shot and see how you go.....put the work in and you'll feel and gain the rewards!!

I definitely second the suggestion of strength exercise. But as a Type 1 be prepared to reduce insulin as it will improve your insulin sensitivity.

Put your food intake and exercise into myfitness pal app for a week... You'll soon see just why you are not losing weight
