Hello. I got my glucose results back today and it was 5.4 I'm pre diabetic is that high? Or is that still considered pre diabetic?

Bumping your post so someone else can see it and hopefully give you a straight answer!

I know that's not a "normal" reading bit I'm unsure if it puts you in the "full blown all singing and dancing diabetic" range either!

Hi. If that's an HBa1C reading then it's very good. Can't remember the spec for 'Pre-diabetes' but anything over 6.0% is starting to need management.

Is that a fasting test result, an HBa1C or an oral glucose tolerance test. It makes a big difference, but actually it is a pretty good result for any of them. If its an HBa1C it is a "normal" result, but if you have been managing your diet in response to your previous diagnosis then it is not necessarily an accurate reflection of your status. It is perfectly possible for people who are fully diabetic to return normal HBa1C results through careful diet management.

It was a HBa1C test. As a matter of fact I haven't been good at all with my low carb diet. The only thing I do now is cut out eating first thing in the morning I find that helps my blood sugar a lot. I know a lot of people would say that is not a good thing to do but it suits me.
