Thanks Nosher. With my of get health problems I really need to get my weight down. Need to get tougher with myself!! Thanks x
I do wonder sometimes about my Hba1c due to the life of my blood cells. This morning my fasting blood glucose that has dropped in last six months was 4.8. I would expect a lower Hba1c than 42? I've seen some suggestion that LCHF makes blood cells live longer?
regards
Derek

Yes, it is about the rate of glycation, I think.
I find that my Libre readings are lower than my SD codefree prick tests, but even it I allow for that, I would expect my average reading (HbA1c) to be better than it is. I mean, how can I possibly have an AVERAGE blood glucose of about 6.8 mmol/l, if my daily tests show that I hit 7 for about half an hour a day and spend the rest of the 24 hours in the 5s and low 6s?
- I'm not complaining. I just think that my HbA1c bears MUCH less relation to my actual blood glucose readings than my health care providers think! lol.
At least the Libre has stopped me worriting about it.
Good luck at the appt, @Linagirl![]()
Thanks Brunit went well. I am now discharged and doc says I am doing very well. He did say I need to focus on weight loss and he is very resistant to me fasting which I wanted to try. He says I need to stop being calorie neutral and cut back. I'm no longer allowed a two egg breakfast!!
He also said he couldn't believe for a minute I had had a stroke which made me want to kiss him but I managed to hold back!
Off to see haematologist next week to tell him he can keep his aspirin and then I won't be troubling any more specialists unless they trouble me![]()
