Hello,

Can anyone tell me what a good HBAC1 level is, as i was tested yesterday and was called back to the doctors today to chat about my level 7.1 it was 6.9 three months ago, they are wanting to up my dose of cliclazide from 80mg (I'm also on metformin four 500mg tablets a day)
I told them i was concerned as ive had some very low readings over the last few weeks since cutting down on carbs and portion size two of them as low as 3.6 where i started to get the shakes in my legs and generally felt agitated, i also pointed out that i wasnt too well over christmas that lasted a couple of weeks where i noticed my sugar readings were on the high side, so they are giving me a re test in 6 weeks,

On a good note my Cholesterol is down to 4.1 :D

Rude people! Not being able to do the things I want to do.
Anything under 7 is better.

Above 7 is when they think complications start so the lower end of the 6's is good. Many can achieve Hba1c 's in the 5's but that needs dedication !
