Headaches/lack of sleep....

Hello all,

I seem to wake up at least 3/4 times per night with a headache.
Needless to say, its making my life a misery as I am finding it harder & harder to function during the day due to lack of sleep
& the headaches coming & going during the day.

I have, in the past, been diagnosed with migraines & also had an MRI to check for tumours (all clear).

Does anyone else have this/a similar problem?

I have just (as of today) switched to a low carg (130g or less per day) diet & wonder if anyone has experience of this helping?

Any advise greatly appreciated

I'm the same with this, no magic cure that I've found so far. I live off pain killers for the last week.

Until last weekend I hadn't had a bad bout for about 2 years. Migraines can be very debilitating for me, but currently I'm just on what I would consider a severe headache!

Hi ...

Both me and my mum get 'low' blood pressure headaches .
These start usually on one side of head and face . [behind eyes or at the sides of eyes]
They are linked in with when our usually high BP goes to ' low ' BP .
We both have to take it easy upon rising after a nights sleep .
Mum has actually passed out and fallen with getting up too quickly
If we start to dash around early this can trigger it 'off'
Sometimes we have had them preventing us from sleeping and can make us both feel sickly .
[I have had to nibble a ginger biscuit to stave off the nausea]

We both have to take pain relief tablets and wear sunglasses if light is too bright .
Its the only way to function when they kick in .
Or just sit/lie down in a quiet cool curtains closed room till it eases off .
Sometimes it is even the next day when it finally ease's ...
These can be debilitating and are very painful and extremely unpleasant also .

Hope this can help .

This all sounds very familiar. Ever since a teenager I've not been able to stand quickly as I black out. I've never fallen thankfully, but I've had many a wobble! Sleep is my ideal headache cure, but I'd be constantly in and out of bed. Currently mine are coming on around 2pm and staying all afternoon and night, clearing when I get up in the morning.

Only issue is I don't have high BP so it can't be the same thing!

I've been blaming eyesight on my recent ones so I've got the optician tomorrow. I was "magically cured" sight wise 2 weeks diagnosis so I suspect ill now be back on to my glasses since BG has come down to more acceptable range.

In Aberdeen it's not a dawn chorus. We have seagulls across the city as a permanent fixture and they are at it day and night! You get used to it but guests always complain :D
