Hiya
I'm a male 41, I was diagnosed last Nov last year. Pretty shocking really, I had the usual signs, thirst, mood swings etc etc..
The doctor has been helpful, he's put me on metaformin, 850mg in the morning and evening-500Mg in the afternoon. The trouble is after a year a i still have high blood sugar, 8.8 after waking, 11.8-2 hours after eating my breakfast. The pains in my arms and legs are getting me down, It's seems to come in waves-some weeks nothing, then bang, awake all night...
When I first was told the doc offered me happy pills, I turned them down as I felt that they would not help-now i'm not so sure.
I just can't seem to get my sugar level down, I've completely changed, fresh fruit, wholmeal bread, I suspect it may be milk that causes my sugar level to rocket.
I've started a log on what food I eat and the reading before and 2 hours after...still.
i'm just felling a little down as with the pains it get I suffer with ED, which has not helped..
