You had a rotten time but you can still eat and enjoy food just that you need to learn what foods are treats and good foods to eat.
You have got your dafne course early compared to a lot of others so although its July alot of people have to wait a year. I been T1 30+ years and never had a course but can stil carb count!!
Are you in regular contact with the hospital team about your bloods? Are they advising you to change any doses?
Jonny, I eat a small bowl of cherios for brekki. I personally inject 6 units novorapid fast acting insulin half an hr before hand and this keeps my levels ok. I eadt a small 'Burgen' ham and salad sarnie for lunch and pack of French fries, again I inject 20 mins or so before then a healthy tea..i have a donnar kebab and salad once a week, but if you eat something fatty like donna meat, inject immediately before or immediately after as the fatty meat takes about 4 hrs to show rise in bg. I eat 75% choci, just 2 squares, but its enough for my sweet tooth. When you see your DN, she will reassure you. If you like salad and veg this will help your levels alot.
