Hello everyone, my name is Rae and I am 43. I have Type 1 diabetes and was diagnosed in June of 1997, so 17 years now. I live in Lincoln with my fiance and 2 daughters. I also have fibromyalgia and some other medical conditions, and my eldest daughter is my carer.
I am studying for a degree with the Open University and was an NVQ Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant until the illnesses took over and I was registered as disabled.
I have a cat and a dog, who I am besotted by, I LOVE music and I love my PC (all my friends are in it!)
I hope to meet new people on here and maybe get some advice too sometimes. I might even be able to GIVE advice too! :p

welcome from a fellow fibromyalgia sufferer !

Inwas diagnosed with fibro about 5 years ago.

Changing my lifestyle completely has reversed all the symptoms. Vit D on a constant basis removed the depression side of the cycle I was in.

I had stopped my gardening business when we moved to Wales. Returning to Midlands, having more fat in my diet and completely off statins helped me enough to get my gardening work back with all my old customers, a hugely happier outlook on life and physically pushing my body to the limits everyday.

I was on full dla, and totally ill. I had also been diagnosed with pernicious anaemia. That too has totally been wiped off my records and undiagnosed.

Personally, I think statins had a lot of trouble for me. Gp's wouldn't entertain the idea... Sent me to a rheumatologist for diagnosis. Was on every drug like amitrptalene, tramadol etc.. Absolutely nothing now, not even a paracetomal after 8 hours gardening...
