Ok I need some special help! Since reducing my carbs I seem to be a bit congested! Have you guys got any tips to get things moving again?

I think it's skewing my weightloss!

Thank you x

Diagnosed prediabetic Easter 2014. Just left to get on with it, no guidance or help from GP. Every day I'm learning something new.

Try ground flaxseed/linseed. Only 1.7g carbs per 100g.

Probably could drink more water yes!!!

Linseed it is then! I'll go get some now

Thanks

Whole linseed or psyllium seeds in water leave for an hour might help. Magnesium-oxide 400-500 mg can also be a help

Plenty of strong green leafy veg like spinach and kale for the fibre and berry fruits should also help

Stewed rhubarb keeps me on track.

Late onset T1, several auto immune issues.
Humalogmix25 twice a day, Methotrexate 25mg once per week, FolicAcid 5mg once per week, prednisolone 5mg daily, Allopurinol 300mg, Calcichew-D3 800iu, Levothyroxine 50mcg, Atenolol 50mg, Losarten 100mg, Aspirin 75mg, Nicorandil 20mg, Nitrolingual GTN spray, Metformin 2000mg, Allimemazine 10mg, Lanzoprazole 30mg, Atorvastatin 20mg, Co Codamol 8/500mg, Depo Medrone (Methylprednisolone) or double Prednisolone for 7 days in case of RA flare.

Yes agree with modesty. Do increase your water intake especially if you are taking fibre.

Thanks!

I've had so much water today and added linseed to everything!

I hate rhubarb so won't be trying that not matter how clogged I get!!!!

Magnesium and Vitamin C. Also cashews work like a charm for me (they are quite high in resistant starch).

I always found insoluble fibre made constipation worse for me, not better. Now I'm eating LCHF, I don't have problems. Increasing the amount of fat/oil can help but making sure you're well hydrated is very important.

Dr Briffa believes fibre has been highly overrated in keeping people regular:
