Hi i'm new and desperate,i am asking this for my dad so i hope you do not mind me gate crashing.
My poor father has been diabetic for many years type two, this was always controlled by pills up until 2 mths ago he now has to inject since then things have gone mad he has regular readings of 30 or more,he is tired all the time, confused and having incontinence issues,he keeps saying he feels so ill and wishes to god he had not changed onto insulin. His nurse just keeps saying up the dose and keep at it,we are so worried at the damage this is doing to his body.He also lives on his own and i am so worried that he will collapse and be left lying there.
My father is a proud and independent man i can't bare to see this happening,i lost my mum 2yrs ago to Meningitis do not want to loose him too.
What can i do,is this normal for the first months any tips on getting his blood sugar down,he is on a long acting insulin he injects at night.Should we be pushing for more answers from the nurse.
Any help would be so appreciated.
