Here comes Summer let's stay active.

Today I exceeded the steps target by over 1000.
Tomorrow I intend to stay in target range, because I have discovered that the target increases each time I go above that required.
This activity tracker is sneaky. But I can do sneakier when required.
Though I am rather chuffed with myself, so activity tracker.... bring it on!

Well done Pipp... Yesterday I doubled my run length as I had my sons dig running along side me and she didn't want to stop:)!

I'll be getting plenty of exercise today - first I'm walking my son to the train station then walking into town from there to check out the food and drink festival that's in the town square. Then I'll be doing my voluntary work in the charity shop. Phew! I'll be glad to put my feet up tonight :)

Local flooding late yesterday. More torrential rain due any time now. Late start after exertions of last few days. Today will be supermarket pacing and stair climbing at home as I do some sorting and chucking of clutter.

Over 9k walked today in Ipswich .... so tired.

Norwich tomorrow

Wow you are putting me to shame . I have been moving but not more than 3miles/day or wandering around work inspecting .
Did about 5 miles today .
I came home , made a cuppa , sat down to drink and I have no idea how but I dropped it , burnt my bum , stood up , stripped off my trousers etc while hubby ran and got a cloth so his beloved new floor was ok . Thankfully none of my neighbours saw my bum haha

Whoops! At least you can laugh about it :) I had my usual walk to and from my mums, made more interesting by it chucking it down!

Just a short 40 min walk today.
Then feet up most of the rest of the day. Think I overdid it last few days. Can't seem to get balance right. Yet.

I just downloaded a free app Health Mate by Withings.

I works with IPhones and other intelligent mobiles and does the usual monitoring your steps etc, always looking for that 10,000 base level steps...which I've realised after 2 days is hard to achieve. But I haven't been taking my phone on my morning run first thing, so that's a mile not counted....duh:)

I also like it as it plots all the variables, weight targets, BP, BPM (takes this from putting your finger up to the camera) and is remarkably accurate as I tested it several times against my blood pressure machine:)

It also connects wirelessly to lots of gear via the Internet of Things thinggy that is appearing everywhere, though I do not have any products that currently work with this functionality.

Anyway, seems to be helping me stay motivated to keep moving and watch my markers...and it's free:)

Another 40 min walk. Clocked up two thirds of my steps target for the day.
A boring walk through suburban streets. Managed to do it without stopping, because there was nothing of interest to observe today.

That's great Pipp. I bet you easily do 10,000 steps just about each and every day:)!

No, I doubt it. Most I have ever managed was 11,000. Usually around 5,000 is target. Walking not really my thing, but have come a long way since my wheelchair days a few years ago.

Thanks for the encouragement though. Will find a way to fit in more activity.

It's amazing how much difference just a little extra activity makes, my mum is proof of that. She makes the effort to go out every day despite having arthritis in her back and down her left hand side and she is blind from retinopathy. It is fantastic to see her getting out and about with her walking stick and she has lost a total of 4 stone in the last 8 years. I wish you the best of luck reaching your fitness goal, I'll be thinking of you

Thank you @Diamum5972
I really appreciate that.
@Jamrox starting these activity threads has been a great motivation. Two years ago I could only manage to walk for a few minutes at a time. Swimming and aquafit where best, and I still feel free and unfettered in the water. Due to various , (rare and boring) other health conditions I am somewhat restricted in activities due to unpredictability of symptoms. So, on days I feel good I get up and go. Just have to accept there will be days when I can't, but enjoy days when I can.
What has surprised me, and doctors, is little by little, I am able to walk more than ever imagined by any of us.
Whilst recognising there will be limitations as I age, I too am inspired by my late mother, who had a life limiting condition for many years prior to hear death. On days she felt well enough she didn't sit about, just got her coat on and got out into the open air. Parks, coast, hills, wherever the mood took her. Something to aspire to.
