Hi all I have a hernia and was wondering if it will effect my blood glucose ? if any one has had surgery for one and did having type 1 give them any trouble before or after surgery

I have a sliding hiatal hernia... I can't get an operation for it because of other medical reasons. But I think my digestive problems do contribute to my sugar levels. I do know that my stomach basically slides into my chest when I eat and the food balls up in my chest... then the stomach slides back down and the food sticks to the top of my stomach before it eventually digests (saw all that when I had the gastric emptying study done). I'm not sure what type of hernia you're referring to.. but hopefully you can get yours fixed. I wish you the best. :)

I had an inguinal hernia repair 2 months ago and having diabetes did not really influence my blood sugar to any noticeable extent.
