Just joined the diabetes.co.uk . I am not diabetic myself but im with someone who is, not realy sure is that the good place for my post but i need an advice.I moved to london few years ago but still not very familiar how the GP and all the hospitals and care organizations are working here.My girlfriend is about to join me soon and is a diabetic ,she exactly knows what to do and how to take care of BP and what insulin and how much of it to take ,take only problem is we are both foreigners and i have no idea how to buy an insulin here?! Is it possible to get a prescription from GP for more then a month? She can take some of the insulin from our origin country but it can't be for more then 3 months , she can fly back to Poland of course every 3 months but i prefer to make sure i know what to do and where to go in a case of emergency .So if anyone could give me full answer where to start when she arrives i would be very great full and one more think cause she will be not employed for a couple of months i think is it possible to get National insurance number for which i can pay monthly ? I know i can't register her in any GP without it or am i mistaken ? Please help me i tried to get those answers everywhere but it looks that this is not popular enough topic .
