I just thought I would say a big hi to everyone. I was diagnosed with T2 when I left the Royal Navy 7 years ago. All I got told was to take these tablets and that was it! My bloods are still high with a max of 14 and low of 8, I have just moved and met my new diabetic nurse (seems nice and explains everything) so hopefully will get my bloods down.

Welcome to the forums @Spudley .

Hopefully some T2s will be along soon to give you more advice, but I thought I would sneak in a welcome first.

Here's my favourite link to reducing T2 blood sugars via diet.

To echo the endorsements above - Jo's Nutritional Thingy is clear, waffle-free and provides enough guidance to make a difference - following the approach she outlines, I went from an HbA1c of 74 to 41 in 3 months. By continuing to follow it, I've been able to ditch the metformin tablets and still maintain control of my blood sugar levels.
