Hi @julieclarke & welcome to the forum

I’ve noticed you’ve posted quite a bit around the forum on different threads & asked a few questions but haven’t said much about yourself :)

I see you are have T2 diabetes. What kind of food do you eat to help you control your blood sugar? Do you have a favourite food?

If you have any questions that you think our members can help you with, or would like to tell us more about anything you do to help you with your diabetes then you can post here or even start your own thread :)

Hello Julie,

I like tuna too. I can’t eat it with bread though because bread makes my blood sugar rise.

I mix it with mayonnaise, spring onions, cucumber and tomato and have it with coleslaw and grated cheese.

Have you been diabetic long? For me it’s 14 years now.

I am talking metformin 4 times a day which is 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening around 7:30pm
I also take Atorvastatin 40mg x1 in the evening and a trulicity pen every Friday
That’s good to know as your profile says diet only, knowing what meds you are on will help members give you the correct answers to your question

whats your fav food you like
I like everything! But there’s lots I can’t eat because it’s too many carbs. I like my above ground vegetables. I also like chicken & my favourite breakfast is scrambled eggs with smoked salmon & I like a couple of squares 95% Lindt chocolate as a treat

Hi Julie, I can’t help but notice a lot of the foods and drink you say you consume are fairly high carb i.e Coke, Costa tuna melt, potato wedges, polos. I see you take Metformin and Trulicity. I have taken Metformin in the past and it did little to lower blood sugar, I put my control then down to diet. However I haven’t any experience of Trulicity, does it have such an effect that you can maintain control by taking it whilst eating a higher carb diet than I do? If you don’t mind could you share your last HbA1c result?
