Hi, I’m Sue, I’m not diabetic but I’m on medication that keeps bouncing me to 43mmol. I managed to get it to 34 back in February but with a Winter of reoccurring ill-health I have had to increase steroids which have elevated my hba1c again. This feels like a constant battle.

You may wish to search steroids on this website. I believe I have read here that they do have an impact on blood glucose levels. Also, diet, especially the amount of carbs consumed, is the main player in glucose levels. Do you count carbs? What sort of foods do you typically eat?

Steroid induced diabetes is unfortunately all too real, but if your steroids are pushing you to the bottom level of prediabetes I would hope that a minor diet tweak might keep you out of the danger zone.

If you describe your typical diet I'm sure some members here can make some suggestions that will (hopefully) reduce your blood sugar levels.

If you can't do anything about the required meds, then tackle the thing you can do something about: Just lower your carbs some. https://josekalsbeek.blogspot.com/2019/11/the-nutritional-thingy.html <-- no need to go as far as this, but maybe implement a thing or two to get your blood glucose back down.
Good luck!
