Hi just been put on Alogliptin and wondered how other people are on it ?

Ive just stopped them, seemed like a good drug to me, no complications at all

I was only stopped from taking them because apparently they react with insulin, no idea how tru that is though, just doing what im told :)

Thank you for your reply , I tried metamorfin but made me feel terrible , the nurse suggested these , hopefully they'll be okay

I also got tummy problems with met but have found the slow release to be much better, I was taking met and alogliptin at the same time, as well as Jardinace, I think the only reason they stopped one was I couldnt have more than three diabetes meds at once, dont think it was a reflection on the alogliptin, I am far from an expert though.

Hi. Metformin and the Gliptin family have completely different functions. Did the nurse offer Metformin SR, the Slow Release version which is much kinder? Metformin helps a bit in various way to reduce glucose in the blood. The Gliptins reduce blood sugar spikes but only that so can be of some help. I was on them for a while as well as Metformin SR and another tablet.

Agoliptin

Hi Joany - It looks like you made a bit of a typo when you made your thread title (Agoliptin as opposed to Alogliptin), and that might be influencing people responding. It's incredibly easily done.

Would you like me to sort the drug name out in your title?

No she didn't , I'm only struggling because of the tablets I now take after my heart attack a few months ago , I was managing with low carb diet but the statins have played havoc with my sugar levels so now having to start diabetes drugs which is really frustrating , sometimes you just can't win

Well i have been taking Alogliptin for 10 days now and have developed awful smelling farts and constant loose stools verging on diarrhea did not have these issues before .
