Once you have got a grip of your new diet, you will be able to try other things from time to time. Once I got my numbers down from 122 (starting point) to mid 30s a few months later, I found that I could tolerate a few more carbs. I still try to eat keto, my biggest carb load is breakfast which is scrambled eggs and black pudding around 6 or 7 carbs. At first the black pudding spiked me but now it doesn't.
The main thing is to keep a tight reign on things at first. I won't pretend it is easy. Twice, I waddled to the corner shop for a packet of crumpets, waddled home and fell face first into a plateful. That is carb addiction. Everyone is different but it took me around 4 weeks before I had an epiphany. Suddenly no more hunger, no wish to snack, had to be reminded to eat. And the weight just started to melt away, no effort. AND the numbers continued to plumet.
The information on this site and contained within the wisdom that are the forum members is absolutely massive. We have mostly been where you are now. Ask and you will receive more information than you can process! You can't ask a silly question, so don't worry about that.
I have vowed to keep keto until they put me in a nursing home and start feeding me porridge and mashed potato! Keto is slightly stricter than low carb, you need to decide on which one you want to tackle first. Do your research, ask questions, lots of questions.
Fat keeps you satisfied and helps with energy levels. Everything you thought you knew about diets is turned on it's head. Don't count calories. Mmmmmm lamb chops......
There's your problem. You are concentrating on portion size while ignoring carbs. Pasta, rice and noodles are all high in carbs, you could eat to satiety by cutting the carbs raising the amount of prtein and fats and still lose weight while improving your bg levels.I just eat in moderation pasta rice noodles and I use a small plate and I would measure how much I eat with a scale I want to get rid of the carbohydrates but I dont know what else to eat.

You have been trying your best, no failure there. Trying a slightly different approach may prove to be just the ticket. Good Luck.I'm going to make some big changes and I know its 5 years late but never to late
I don't eat strictly low carb (I'm a T1 and on insulin), but tonight's dinner was particularly nice, and low carb as well, so here you go:Anything I can do to fix the blood sugar issue I'm willing to do. For breakfast I usually have porridge or weetabix I've moved to eggs now. I'm just needing to know what I could have for dinner. I'll look up the website and see what I can change thanks.

I don't eat strictly low carb (I'm a T1 and on insulin), but tonight's dinner was particularly nice, and low carb as well, so here you go:
Some leftover Brussels sprouts with blue cheese and walnuts.
Two small high meat content sausages.
Fried mushrooms and tempeh with spinach and some finely cut sun dried tomatoes in oil, with a medium boild egg on top because my mother taught me you should always eat egg with your spinach. (Tempeh was marinated in soy sauce, chilli pepper, garlic, ginger and olive oil, plus some Asian dried spices)
My plate definitely didn't look like it needed rice, potatoes or pasta as well.

I would NOT stop the Glicazide first I would cut out as many cars as I could as soon as... RIGHT NOW!Please don't cut your carbs without stopping the glicazide first, also check whether you need to give it 24 hours after stopping before you cut back. Use the time to research, look for recipes, order strips etc.
A couple of apps for you. copymethat will let you snag any recipe you find on the internet, really helpful. The other one is mysugr. You enter your glucose readings into it before you eat and two hours after, also the food that you consume. After a few days it will give you an estimated hba1c number which will show you how you are trending.

THE HIDDEN CARBS ARE THE ONES TO BE AWARE OF!
Check the labels on everything you consume. The law states the total number of crabs should be listed on all products such as sauces, (A huge source of hidden carbs if you use these... HP, Ketchup, any cooking sauce... ie. sweet &sour, curry, etc. Ready meals are full of Carbs!).
Beware of anything low fat or 'diet' (low fat often means high sugar)
Cut out all potatoes, rice, grain, (Esp.Weetabix) pulses, biscuits, cake, bread.... Does this sound extreme?
IT SHOULD, Because it is.
Is it doable? Y E S it is.
Try and be very strict with yourself for a week and note the huge effect it will have on how much energy you have.
Drink at least 2 litres of water every day (just water, nothing added)
Take your readings before meals and 2hrs after see the effects right before your eyes.
I am not a doctor nor am I qualified in any medical sense of the word.
The above is the way I achieved my results.
I had readings in the mid 20s now I have readings around 5-6
Read my stats in my signature.
Others here have even greater results ask them what they did and more importantly what they do to keep these numbers up (or should be down
You can do it too.

Given that @UsmanMo96 has been suffering hypos previously, going low carb and taking the same amount of gliclazide would definitely be dangerous and could definitely cause more hypos.I would NOT stop the Glicazide first I would cut out as many cars as I could as soon as... RIGHT NOW!
I fully concur. Testing is paramount as I'm sure most here would agree.Given that @UsmanMo96 has been suffering hypos previously, going low carb and taking the same amount of gliclazide would definitely be dangerous and could definitely cause more hypos.
When I first joined this forum I read what other posters were doing to achieve their results.Thank you PO. I will definitely look on your profile.

I don't hardly ever eat sweets or cake or biscuits or anything that I know for certain will adversely effect my levels.I fully concur. Testing is paramount as I'm sure most here would agree.
Just as a side note, as far as I can ascertain no T2 has ever died as a result of hypos.
I was testing at 4.1 most of today. I would be certain that that will rise as soon as I eat.
Even 1 jelly baby, in my case would raise my BGL by 2

That is very true KKHmmmm, unless they were in a hypo and fell into the road? I'm joking I know but hypo's are dangerous full stop, the mind & body are not always functioning correctly when you're in one. x
