High blood sugars

Diabetes nurse called. She told me to up my gliclazide to 120g in morning and evening.
And she said 35-40g of starch and carbohydrates with each meal.

I am really sorry to read this - that nurse must be hurting a lot of people with her crazy instructions.
I do not have 40 gm of carbs in a whole day. Maybe 35gm when I have fruit as dessert.
I start off eating a salad most days, lots of green leaves, tomato radish cucumber sweet pepper coleslaw, a little onion, sometimes a few walnuts, often with grated cheese and boiled eggs, but sometimes tuna or other fish or cold cooked meat. I can then go all day without anything more to eat but in the evening I would have meat or fish with a stir fry, mushrooms courgette or aubergine, bean sprouts, celery, green sweet pepper, or perhaps cauliflower cheese, or roasted cabbage, swede or turnip.

I don’t understand how a so called health care “professional” would want you to eat food just so you need to take medicine.
Eat low carb no need for pills.
But it’s your choice not for me to say.

I wish I had it recorded but she will call me back next week.

So you know the power of not eating carbs. Your meter no longer says high.
What do you think you should do?

Definitely I will be avoiding, carbohydrates. I'm not sure if I can complete

I would love to cut out my medication. That's a goal I hope to reach someday.

If you make your food choices a lifestyle you are more likely to succeed than if you see it as a task to complete. Be ruthless, strip your kitchen of any food that doesn't look the way it was harvested. Trash the soft drinks and fruit juices. If it's not in season, particularly fruit, it shouldn't be there. A slither of cake at parties stops causing offence and is actually tastier than a regular wedge. Biscuits offered with tea should only be an excuse to launch into a tirade about the evils of carbs. Go old school, eggs, fatty meat, bacon, lots of green veg. Once your health starts to improve those around you will slowly come round and join you. That will make that your lifestyle choice not only easier but something to be proud of.

My doctor called me and told me my c-peptide test hasn't come back yet, he said it could take up to 3 months to come back. Now obviously hba1c test is different but I got those test results within 3 days. I think I will have to wait but my blood sugar has come down to 11.2 but I know that's not ideal but thats improved. // I want this test results to hurry and give me a understanding of where my insulin production is at.

Great improvement in such a short time. It gives strong hope that you can do this with food rather than more drugs, maybe even with fewer drugs. And with time hopefully it will continue to improve.

My doctor told me to take 120g of gliclazide and this is the result. Not too good but getting better.

I have been having high blood sugars for the last 2 weeks.

I'm on sitagliptin and metformin,; I have seen a dietician and she has told me everything I'm eating is good. And to keep to 2 portions, 3 meals a day.

I am not sure anymore porridge in the morning and anything in the evening. My plate is mixed with meat and vegetables and I drink water only.

I think maybe insulin next.

Yes. Try talking to your MD maybe you have to try the insulin for T2D’s
