I have been lchf for a week now and I've eaten nothing carbs today , before tea it was 11.7 and now it's 12 I just don't get why it's not coming down . On metformin amd start glic tomorrow HBA1C 120 a month ago ..

Your before and after meal numbers show you that your meal worked very well for you, a difference of 0.3 mmol/l is basically the same number.

More importantly, your hba1c of 120 a month ago means that your average blood glucose was over 18. You managed to get it down to around 12, which is a very large improvement!

The nurse today was not impressed by my high HBA1C , she actually got me very worried . I know it's v high and I'm doing my best to get it down dies itbtake a while to get I to normal figures while low carbing , also when I start my glico meds tomorrow do u eat more carbs as she tild ke to he very careful of hypos .I'm struggling a little to know what to do

It's likely that what you are seeing is your liver doing its best to keep your BG at the levels it's been at recently. Your liver will have accepted the previous high BGs as "normal" and will be trying to get you back where it thinks you should be, by making new glucose and adding it to your system.

Livers are slow learners, and it could take a while before it gets used to your lower levels as a new normal. I think it took mine about four months to completely get used to it - and left to itself when I fasted, my BG went up.

Thankyou , I've noticed mine goes up if I don't eat for a long while
